I can't help but wonder if he will discontinue the PM since the other amps seem to be the most popular ?

I see no reason for the PM to be discontinued since it's custom made by order so he doesn't need to have them in stock or something, just kt88 tubes.

So TWO PEOPLE out of 600 use a Pro Mod?!?! Ok, I know there are a lot of "members" who don't post or sign up and then never return (mostly after reading the aVominations posted by our founder) but c'mon. I want to hear that at least two more people still play one. Speak up! ;D LOL, I was waiting for you to catch that!

ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I submit that the Promod may in fact be the least used splawn amp out there...oh wait, what is that? There seems to be a commotion in the other room, it seems that everyone is playing their Quickrod's, Nitros, and Competitions...EVH rules.. I have no qualms about that. I like to be different anyway.

I can't help but wonder if he will discontinue the PM since the other amps seem to be the most popular ? That's kind of what I am thinking. Maybe I should hold onto mine even if I do get a Nitro some day just for that fact. It's probably only a matter of time until he doesn't get enough orders for the PM that he pulls the plug on them. Then again, it only requires changing a resistor and different tubes from the QR circuit so maybe he will always keep that option around.

ANOTHER PROMOD Player Here! I got it about 6 months ago and just joined the forum.... I didn't know there was a Splawn forum.
I was using a Marshall JMP Master Volume Head from 1980 -- made for the US market with 6550's. Awesome amp! But not enough gain, and not enough headroom with the gain cranked to get a good solo boost. I tried other multi-channel tube amps, but nothing matched the tone I was looking for. Then someone recommended Splawn. I saw videos on YouTube and talked to the dudes at Splawn. Although I immediately gravitated toward the QR, the PM sounded like a better fit for my preferred tone (based on tubes). I found it through a music dealer online so I didn't have to wait.
It's great! I get so many compliments on my tone at gigs. I switch up amps occassionally and the soundman always complains when I don't have the Splawn.
My only complaint is the cabinet costmetics. Because I didn't want to wait, the only one I could find is black with the open front and the white chicken wire. My personal preference is for a more vintage looking cabinet.
Anyway... I have had the opportunity to A/B this amp with a JSX, a Dual Rectifier, a Supersonic, and Master Volume JMPs. To my ears, nothing is as crisp, full, and clean sounding as the ProMod. Well, the JMPs are there, but they lack in other key areas per my note above.

I got mine used so I didn't get to choose the cosmetics. I would have went full Plexi style also but mine has the lexan window. It's cool though, I changed the knobs and I like it better now. Enjoy your PM! Do you still have the old JMP?

I still have a 100 Watt JMP Master Volume -- a 1981 I think. Although I'm a satisfied PM owner, I'm thinking about selling it to fund a QR purchase. I'm selling a lot of gear right now, so I'm thinking about reinvesting...
