Shawn- Dude, I am NOT a better man than you. Sorry if it came across that way in my post. I think attending church is important but has nothing to do with going to Heaven. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone. Just post some scriptures pertaining to things brought up on the thread so opinions can be based on the Bible instead of what we would like to think without the scriptures. Glad that you have read enough to know what you believe.
Splawnfan- You're a sick puupy :-)
Jimbax- Preach on my brother!

Eternity is a long time...I stand with Jesus. I don't say that self-righteously, I say it most humbly...I was a 'halenist' too....it doesn't last...I WORKED my way to the top of the music industry scene in the late 70s early 80s LA Rock/Metal scene....went to countless parties, with Rock Stars and some of the elite 'in' crowd of that time...I was on the rock guitar 'short list' (got invited to dozens of auditions for top acts etc...)...jammed with Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' band, Hung with George Lynch and Blackie Lawless, Gene Simmons at the LA Clubs etc...etc..... (i can 'name' drop all night...) studio guitarist at the record plant in LA...Columbia records is coming to rehearsal...Beamish and Atlantic records is coming to rehearsal...bla, bla, bla...played em all (just about..) alot of vanity, alot of work, alot of pressure, unbelievable pressure...Tons of distractions from 'keeping up the image' that you have it all going on...tons of chicks tons of booze tons of drugs...seemed EVERYONE was my friend....then....I quit when I was at the top of that nonsense...walked away...took a number of years to 'get my head on straight' ....got a part time day job, met my wife around then...God got my attention when in 1984 my dad died....in 1987 I decided to give my life completely over to Him....If any one gives a dang I can talk forever about how faithful God has been and how faithful He is today and how shallow and fleeting the whole 'rock scene' lifestyle was and is...I know, been there done that..my soul looked like on the inside what Mick Mars body looks like on the outside today...God reached out to me in the person of Jesus Christ and I reached back...God renewed my soul as sure as He renewed and delivered Shawnee from alcohol...now, bros it is possible to love God and ROCK!!! (in a good way! hehehe)

AMEN Jimbax!! Rock the Flock here Brother! I am just gettin started on my journey.. my wife has been going for a long time and they have been praying hard I would come. they actually came and visited me. The pastor enticed me to come to church by saying we need a drummer.. you play drums? just happened I was leanring from Jason ( caroline spine's drummer) for a little while.. got a few things down and I said sure, why not.. its been the most spiritual event for me. The church is small. about 60 people.. older and younger than I, I warned them.. I was a "over the top rocker". they have kicked up the music, they like it, and I have accepted jesus and Rocking on..
Like most of you,, or some, I dont know.. Been to the parties. hangin with a life style that was very dangerous = bad stuff. glad I am alive to play and pray.
the intersting thing about playing drums at the church, all these years playing guitar was about me, making it, or ?? become local famous or what ever.. at church playing drums.. It's about Jesus.. humbled me..
So ROCK The FLOCK Guys!

Shawn, Beautiful collection of amps and guitars on your website! NICE!! wheres the Splawn! ?? :-) Thanks hacksaw for checking out my site. I do have a Quick Rod that I just got...I just put it in a purple/gold piping Marshall case and added chickenheads. I figured I'd take pictures of it when I get the Splawn 4x12...which should be here sometime next week...I'll have some rearranging to do in the music room first...then I'll take some pics

it isn't very big actually...maybe 14x18 or so. its as wide as the amp wall and as long as the guitar wall ;D The wall across from the guitars has a Studio RTA console/desk recording station. When I had this house built this was actually my home office, has its own full bath in it. I joke with my wife that if I had a refrigerator and a microwave in here I wound ever need to come out

Shawn- I live in Texas too. I live a few miles past Beaumont so we were probably a little over an hour apart when you were living in Houston. Nice web-site.
