Don't sweat it guys. I play PS2 when I can. I like playing Desert Storm 2 with my son. It's really funny because he's waaay better than me and gets really frustrated with me. It goes like this: Zach- "Where are you Dad?" Me- "I'm killing these guys that you left behind." Zach- "Well just leave them and get up here with me." Me- "I don't know where you went." Zach- big sigh....... "Just stay there Dad, and I'll come get you AGIAN!" Mean while my wife saying "Just turn it off if all you two are going to do is argue the whole time you play." LOL

LOL lol....kids definetly have a knack for games! reminds me of the days I used to go into the mall and try to play mortal kombat..there would be a kid that practically needed a high chair to reach the joy sticks, but he would be there for about two hours, kickin' the crap outta people on one quarter.. I stink at games but I love em =)

Shreder- Kids are crazy that way. If you have ever seen the cartoon Dexter's Laboratory, that's my kids. Dexter and Dee Dee. When Zach was like seven years old we would play Mario Smash Brothers on N64 with four controllers. Me, my daughter (who was 12), and a neighborhood kid (who was older than Zach) would all team up against him and he would beat us ALL by himself. We all played the game often and knew how to play but Zach was a freakin machine! Little Brat.

I would LOVE to get back into all that, but it's hard enough to play single player games these days..that and my guitar's been taking over my life =d

Interesting topic. Although I haven’t read the entire thread my take on religion is this, Religion to me is a very personal thing. I don't believe it the whole church way about it. I believe in Christ and read the bible every couple years or so. I pray just about everyday. I don't go to church and can't remember the last time I ever went to church. Does that make me a bad person? I'll find out when the time comes I'm not a bible waiver and I don't judge people or try to force-feed them my beliefs on religion. To me that is the biggest turn-offs about it. There are far too many hypocrites sinning away yet judging everyone else but themselves to make a buck and that is a big turnoff. I just live my life, be kind to people and treat them how I'd want to be treated. Do I sin? Sure, do I drink beer? Sure, do I swear? Too much, do I like hot women? Yes, but I'm faithful to my wife and I feel I'm good person and ask God to forgive me and help me be a better person everyday. Although I don't advertise my beliefs I wouldn't be where I am today without Christ in my life. I also never talk about them unless someone asks or brings it up, like in this thread Another interesting thing (to me anyway) is the near death experiences(NDE's) that people have had and how it relates to God and the afterlife. Do a Yahoo search one time and read a few.

Shawn- Thanks for posting man. Am I your mini-me? (Shawnee.... Shawn). Ha ha ha. I'll give you some verses to answer a couple of questions: Does not going to church make me a bad person? No, you are a bad person anyway. :-) Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. We can't be "good" because God's standard for "good" is perfection since he can't sin. Since we do, we can not be good. As for going to church, yes we should according to the next verse. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
As far as Bible waiving- Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. Acts 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. I think our pride gets the best of us sometimes and we don't want people to think we are some kind of crazy Jesus freak, but God still expects his people to spread the word.
Hypocrites.... man that comes up a lot. The problem is that we are always accountable for ourselves no matter what anyone else does. If there are hypocrites at church, you are still supposed to go according to the scriptures. The big picture is that we are ALL sinners. The church is not a place for perfect people to gather, it's a place where spiritually sick people go to get help (and every single one of us sins so we all need help). I'm not doing God any big favor by attending church. He doesn't need it, I do! I go because I need to be fed spiritually by a good Bible preacher thundering the Word of God so the holy spirit will open my heart up to see my sin. Not someone elses sin. Then I can repent and grow. I teach high school Sunday school so I do have to point out sin when I see it. I try my best to do that with the right spirit and do it out of love for the kids, not to try and be more righteous than they are. I have sin problems just like everyone else so I am not any better than they are. Actually, some of those kids are probably more spiritual than I am. I'm lucky to have them.

Hacksaw- Thanks for posting too. I have not had a near death experience (that I was sober enough to remember). Thank God those days are behind me!

Thats cool Shawnee. I'll respectfully agree to disagree with you to some extent and take I'll my chances. I believe organized religion was created by man and is extremely corrupt, its not a must have in order to be accepted into heaven. I'm perfectly content with my spirituality and my relationship with God. The bible is great but there are many interpretations to scriptures and probably a lot of re-writes. Thanks for posting those but I'm already aware of them. I've read the new testament many times. Scripture does not always mean the exact same thing to everyone.
Just because I don't go around and spread religion does not mean I'm ashamed of God. I'm not embarrassed to say I believe in Jesus. I do spread the word to my children, family and close friends.
I chose to not discuss religion nor politics. Its just the way I've always been. What happens is that everyone has to try to force their ideals on someone else. I have mine and you have yours, doesn't make you any better of a man than I.

"you can't compare Van Halen to Christianity..that's crazy. One changed the world as we know it and the other is a religion" ;D ;D

Dudes...Dudes...WE don't 'own' the definition of what 'good' means...GOD DOES! The Bible 'spells' out in NO uncertain terms what we must do to be saved....Jesus says that 'narrow is the way to eternal life and FEW there are that find it'....so, only a 'few' of us throughout eternity are going to be 'saved'?....yup! Jesus, also points out in scripture what it 'means' to be His disciple and what it takes...(pick up your 'cross' (life) and follow Me...He says...) and He says that certain things will be true of your life once you do become 'born again'...He speaks of our relationship to sin AFTER being saved and how we 'will' (not should..) respond to the Holy Spirit's convicting us when we do...Jesus says we are to 'love each other as He loves us...' (we will be known by our 'love' for one another...) The Apostle Paul goes on later in the NT to warn us to 'examine ourselves' continually as to whether we are in the faith (truly saved)! (few there are that find it!)...I am not any man's 'judge' when it comes to eternity....God IS! but, God does expect us (Christians) to judge with a 'right judgment' when it comes to relationships...when someone lives a life that CONTRADICTS what God says (declares as 'righteous') in scripture and yet includes themselves in God's family (and I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS WHAT ANY ONE HERE IS DOING!) they are conveniently diluting themselves straight into an eternity APART from GOD! I, for one want to make sure that MY christianity isn't MINE at all but GOD'S (as revealed in scripture: IN CHRIST JESUS!) and that I am coming by His way (Trusting HIM by grace through faith in Jesus, and His finished work on the cross as 'atonement' for my sins) not 'MY' way....BTW: when we 'pour' non-biblical content into the definition of what God defines as 'justified' (saved)...we 'define' (judge) ourselves outside of God's will..... OK, I'm off the soapbox....
