A couple of years back, when they were first coming around, I bought a BASSON 2x12 cab. It sounds great, super construction, and you got to choose your speakers. I took their advice and got the Eminence. 1 patriot and 1 redcoat as was suggested. The owner handled everything himself and was a great guy to deal with. It cost me just under four-bills if I remember right. I am not sure if their company or prices have changed at all since then. That all being said, I am going to start saving for an oversized Splawn 2x12 to match my new QR.

Hey Shredder, I talked to Josh today at Splawn. I basically told him, we thought, as we have posted, that sticking with the Splawn products, is the politically, and tonally correct thing. He says, definately cool. I think thay try hard enough, to please our request's, that the little push, in their direction, is far smaller than, the pull, that we produce. I have talked to, the owners of several product lines lately, and with the exception of, the guy at SOUTHBAY AMPS, who sells, scumback speakers, no one cares. I mean none of them. Guy at Southbay amps, was decent, like the guys at splawn. Them speakers, just cost alot, and the wait is long. What's up with this, new splawn shirt deal??  Are they free, or, do you have to buy them?? do you know???  what new shirt? Any shirt would do me, still waiting for a reply  |

Brian ""Sorry to intervene"" This statement just shows ignorance. Some people tend to slam gear if it doesn't say Splawn on it. You're best bet is to listen to an Avatar for yourself and be your own judge. Craig, You play decent but I personally think your tone sounds like you're in one of those PIZZA BOXES!  Pizza Boxes...?? GET REAL MAN!! I've heard it all now. Sorry to intervene, but brian those avatar cabs are a joke. They look and sound like they're made out of pizza boxes. Don't forget too, 99.999% of the people on HC are hacks. |

Court, is now in session. The first charge is, taking an opinion, to a personal level, in a response. GUILTY!! The last response, on what was my original posts, is just wrong man, truly, it just crosses the line.  I am the one that started this thread, about Splawn 2-12 cabs, HEY, THIS IS THE ,SPLAWN FANS FORUM. I did not ask about any other cabs, I don't recall why, the responses shifted away from the cool feedback, I was getting, but IT just is'nt right. I am a grown person, and I am not perfect, and yes, as I was just recently reminded, LIKE I DON'T KNOW, everybody, is entitled, to their opinion,  but, this is the , SPLAWN FANS FORUM, The second charge is, topic deviation, so as to advertise another brand, GUILTY!!!!  Again, this is the SPLAWN FANS FORUM, I want the feedback, on splawn 2-12 cabs, ONLY, I repeat, ONLY, why, because this is the... it's okay,you can just sing along.when u know the words, it's the, SPLAWN FANS FORUM. The third charge is, confusing the senses, let me explain, A statement cannot show ignorance, it is not a living, breathing thing, it can merely lend itself, as an object, to display, something, in someway, somehow, sometimes. If you wanna attack my clips or tone, thats fine but at least back it up with some of your own PLEASE so we can all critique your masterful tone. Please educate us on what good tone is. |

i think he got pis*ed due to the fact we got off the splawn 2x12 only topic and i can kinda understand that,the only reason i chimed in was i saw the avatar cab post and was seriously thinking of getting one so i wanted to see who had either owned or heard one in person to get a opinion. i don't want to drop ANY cash and waste it!!even if the cabs are really cheap,if they are not what i am looking for i wouldn't care if they were $100 i wouldn't buy it,on the other hand if i like something and it fits my taste in tone it could be hated by everyone else in the world and i would stand by it 100%. big thanks to Craig and fretburner a figured i would get at least two opinions on this product (1 good-1 bad) i guess i have to find one somewhere and see for myself.

Just Kidding. I never knew of their exsistence untill this I been to this site.
But I will never jugde a piece of gear untill I played one.
Anyway I been checking out the splawn oversize 2x12 cab too.( looks sweet to me somewhat
like the Bogners 2x12)
My Orange 4x12 cabs can be back breakers @ times.
But I'll never sell them.

"But I will never jugde a piece of gear untill I played one" I love mine it sounds killer with the Vintage 30's  Brian, Check out the spec's on the Splawn over size 2 X 12 to the Avatar or even Bogner. I think you will see they are all made virtually to the same spec's and size Here's a quote from Avatar's site: Vintage 212 guitar cab. It is styled after the famous Bluesbreaker 212 cab from the 60's. It features a slanted front speaker baffle board to point the speakers up slightly towards the player.
