I gotta get a PRS. I borrowed my Boss' 1992 CE-24 and that guitar is awesome. I must have one! I have about five used ones that I've got my eye on but I can't decide what color or how important the year is. I know the older CE's have alder bodies, smaller heels, and one piece tremolo's. I like mahagony so I don't mind that on the newer ones. I don't know if the heel being bigger is a big deal or not. The tremolo going to a two piece screwed together unit could matter but I'm not sure.
The wide thin necks seem a little too thin to me. I think the standard carve would be perfect but the CE-24 comes in wide thin or wide fat. Decisions, decisions...... Opinions?

Well my old CE is Alder and it cuts like a knife through a mix. My Custom 24 is Mahagony with a maple top and sounds little muddier like a Les Paul. I like the Mansel without the maple top and the Rio Grande pickups, its like a good common ground between the two, but the CE alder is still my best sounding guitar. I think I just got a 'good one' though, because typically I'm not into alder, but maybe its the pickups.. '95 Custom 24: '89 Ce Alder:

The Leopard pants, cigarrette butt, bud bottle and sweat are optional add-ons that are not included with the PRS guitars,, LMAO.

I love my PRS's. They are a little newer, ('99 CE22, '01 CU22) but to me they are incredible. The pickups aren't stock anymore - EMG's now. The CU has an 85 in the bridge and an "H" in the neck. The CE has the ZW set - 81/85.

Man, I just don't know which model I want. The McCarty model looks good to me but I have a few Les Pauls already. I will try to play a few different models at a local store tomorrow. Thanks for the input (and picures) guys!
OK maybe not the picture of Craig in leopard tights. LOL
