Well I'm alive. My PRS has been stuck at the CLOSED UPS station in Beaumont for almost two weeks. I can't even go pick it up. I've been living at work for 8 straight days and it looks like I will have to keep working atleast until this weekend. On the flip side, my house is in pretty good shape. I lost a few turbins on the roof and some shingles. My fence is gone and my shed in the back is flat (on top of my lawn mower). We didn't have any storm surge here so I am VERY thankful. We still don't have electricty at home (or work- dang generators never run right either). My wife and kids are in Houston and I sleep here at work. I will be glad when things get back to normal! My PRS would help

Got my PRS last week. It's a 1993 CE-24 in a cherry burst finish and I LOVE it. It plays great and sounds amazing. I can get some pretty sick tones out of the Quick Rod with this guitar. I am playing a totaly new rig now with this guitar, the QR and the new celestion G12H30's in my Marshall cab. I'm not using any effects right now because the QR sounds so good dry. I wish I could record some clips but you guys know what the QR sounds like anyway.

I had to look it up on the PRS site to see what pickups are in it! It has the stock pickups and you are right Shreder, it's an HFS in the bridge position. I'm pretty happy with my tone right now.

I thought it had a dragon 1 before I looked it up. I don't know much about the different PRS pickups but I like them. The HFS is pretty hot and has some bite but it's not too trebly. I tend to like a thick sound in the bridge with the highs rolled off a bit with tight bass. I'll have to compare it to some other guitars that I have and see how much different it sounds.

I've never played one with dragon 1's in it...they don't make those anymore as I understand it...now they either have dragon 2's or the HFS/Vintage combo....I much preferred the HFS/Vintage to the dragon 2's....like you said..pretty hot, but not ice pick treble..kinda like a JB with less high end...

I don't know how I hadn't bought one until now. I just never really played one plugged in until a few months ago. I really like the different tones you can get and the fact that it has a tremolo and a bolt on neck yet still screams like a Les Paul. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple of things that I would like to change, but overall it's a sick guitar.

That's one of the things I would change! It has a wide thin neck which is OK (I don't like the wide fat necks). I like the feel of a C shaped strat neck the best (like a Warmoth standard thin with the edges rounded a bit). The 10" PRS radius is OK too but I like 12" the best. I would also like a little thicker body (like a McCarty) but they don't use that body on any other PRS and I don't like the feel of the 22 fret PRS necks. I'm still 90% satisfied with the guitar though. I have always gone back and forth between a Les Paul and a Strat so it's kinda cool to have something a little different and is more versatile.

I tend to like a wider thinner neck as well..my lynch is wider bnot quite as wide and it's inbetween the thin and think profiles of the PRS my JP is not as wide as either, but it's definetly wider than the axis..and it's more along the lines of the thin PRS.. so prs have 10" radius?? THAT's what I didn't like about the necks! I like 15"...now I know why they didn't feel comfy..

I can live with a 10" radius. You can get the action better the flatter you go. For me 12" is the perfect balance bewteen action and comfort. Any flatter than 12", it's starts to feel too flat or even concave to me and makes my hands tired when I play.
