G.E. Smith from SNL a few years ago. Also he was Hall and Oats guitar player. I'm not really a big fan of H and O but I've heard some stuff he's done with other player.

I used to watch SNL just to hear GE Smith's licks in between commercials. He rules. So tasty!

Yup..I done the same thing. Just that few seconds of outro would just make me shake my head. I remember when Valerie hosted and Eddie was on ther and jammed an instrumental. It was good but I was hoping they would trade licks but it was mostly Ed. But I know he was the musical guest soo...

Vernon Reid deserves more respect. I absolutely love his playing on all the Living Colour CDs. His use of multiple musical styles and innovative use of effects really had an impact on me.
Larry LaLonde from Primus is underrated. He doesn't play a lot of notes but the ones he does always add something and his solo on "Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver" is still one of my favorites.
Ty Tabor I mention all the time for various reasons but he's one of my favorite guitarists ever.
Mike McCready from Pearl Jam is an absolute beast. On Pearl Jam's live DVD Live from the Garden he plays some extended solos that absolutely rip.

D@mn it! one of the greatest tunes ever is "out of touch"......i'm outta time My friend moved out to San Jose and was going to start a Hall & Oates tribute as a side project. Bud, the guitar player was going to wear the pink “Oates” muscle shirt on stage. Dan, my friend, would talk about this guy that went to college with him, Darren. He would wear his Hall and Oates t-shirt and “chukka” boots every day. Great story, good guy. www.wigglewagons.com/

Same with LaLonde from Primus but I think he hams it up sometimes and just plays whatever live. I am going to see them on Nov 11!! McCready is good once and a while but my problem with him is that he does the same penatonic jam over and over. He does what he does well but he's not very versatile.

I'll add Audley Freed. Like the Cry of Love stuff better than Black Crowes.

Cry of Love CD "Brother" is one of my all time favorites. I think its the last CD i got that I truly love the whole CD, beginning to end. I wish they would have stayed together. Their former drummer drops in around here and jams with a local band from time to time.
