Well Matt if we all played for other people we'd be carbon-copy under-achieving post-punk-pop-nu-metal-electronica-rap-cross-over clones vieing for the next American Music Awards spot. No thanks. that's the way I see it..just my opinion though (well, your opinion too)...lol... some play to tell others a story (don), others play for other reasons, like you and I... not sayin' that there's anything wrong with either road you go down..I just happen to be on the latter, rather than the former... (and c'mon craig..we all know why you've really played all these years....for the tail! LMFAO)

WRONG! lol i see it as a tool to elicit emotion to an extent..but not the emotions of others..mine, first and foremost

Yeah I agree with that statement. I don't need anything but the guitar. I'm perfectly content playing solo guitar or with a band with or without lyrics or songs any style, acoustic or electric..

started my first band after i had been playing for 3 or 4 months. i really couldn't imagine playing guitar and not being in a band. playing a good show is like a reward for all of the sh!t that goes in to being a band.... there is nothing quite like having 100+ people singing all the words to a song that you wrote and going crazy....
not to mention, it is the best source of income for a band. we sold 1500 cds (and all of our shirts) in one week on the warped tour this past summer. it was ridiculous....

To be honest I play mostly as a way to escape bordem. Sometimes even after 15 or 20 min of playing I am still bored and just put it down. Every once in a while I really get off on just jammin. I guess after 25 years of playing doing the alot of the same repetative chops its easy to bored. I never really expected to have stuck with guitar playing this long and after living with diabetes 31 years its a miracle I can even sit here and tell you about it..
