that's what I'm thinkin' too..rather than goin' down the shore, I bet alotta people close(er) to that area go there....it's kinda like Bar A in bellmawr..beach volleyball court outside, etc, etc... we have another show in mid march and one on april 1st (now THERE's a gig date for ya..lol)...the singer talked to the manager and they said they have no problem with an original band if you'd wanna play your own stuff..what we could do is see how the march show goes with the weather and such..if it's nice and there's a bigger turn out, we could maybe do it on the 1st if you have nothign goin on? I have to re-talk to the band about this..cause quite frankly, after the turnout on saturday, we're not even sure if we wanna make that drive for what little money we do get...I look at it this way though..I considered it a practice that we got paid for...only we had to lug our own stuff there..lol..at least the PA stays at home Keep playing it Shred. You never know? You might get a pretty good following there. We still gig all the time. A lot less now than what we were doing for the last 6 years. We're playing a few acoustic shows this week and then we're off to Kansas. We got booked at a club up there about 3 years ago and it was on the way back from another gig so we all thought "Oh man were in Kansas???" Turns out to be a great place! They treat you great! They feed you, put you up in rooms, pay you awesome! and the people love and appreciate live music. It's sold out everytime we go and play there. I'll try and get some video this weekend and then I'll have two shows on video that I can't figure out to post for you guys. yeah, I don't think we should burn our bridges there..I mean, hell, if we have a night open and they want us there, why not? they treat us well and really dig us and we get along good with all the help and the manager and the owner...

Vom, I am guessing most of the people on this forum are in their early 30's to late 40's and probably have a family (or at least some do) I never went that route and my health condition makes it real tough to be in a relationship so I certainly don't a a family in my future. Based on what your friend said dosen't make much sense to me being if your already commiting to learning songs, rehearsing, working with different personalities you might as well gig at that point. I can see as a parent having not much interest in the scene being your priorities most likely will change. I really believe that its a lot of hard work being in a band. Most of my friends were in original bands over the years. One of my best friends/great guitar player played with Saigon Kick. For me by the time I get home from work I certainly don't have much motivation to do anything. My diabetes certainly does not help. If I could get a gig in the daytime I would probably dig it. I am not much of a night person these days. BTW I would like to send you a copy of my DVD/CD list. Not sure how to use the PM. Could I send you an email? Gary gary, send your list to dvomvas@optonline.net

Gary, Yeah I've heard he can be an a$$. However I love Saigon Kick and Supertransatlantic. That guy wrote some killer tunes. "The Lizard" is one of my favorite albums.

Yeah I would say don't give up on it. If its anything like Bar A in Belmar than you need to wait for the weather to warm up. I go there now after work sometimes and there is like 30 people in there on a Friday. In the summer there is about 250+ people in that place on a Friday!!
We could do April 1. We have a show the next nigt but that's fine because we wouldn't be bringing people anyway. We would alsothrow some covers so we don't totally shock them wit the Ham Jam!
