hi guys..just got off the phone with scott.. i originally had a competition head and 412 cab on order with scott.. but after listening to all the clips and seeing the few vids around i decided to call scott and change my order to a nitro instead.. cosmetically it will be the same and im sticking with kt77's in the power section.. i think i have made the right choice..what do you guys think? i caught scott just in time too as he was ready to start on my competition next week.. as some of you may know im a huge sykes fan and i think the nitro will be easier to acheive what im looking for.. love to hear your thoughts guys..

Yes,dont worry. The clean channel is awesome and you know what the overdrive can do.If what your after is a straight forward raw sound, then you will get it.It really has a meat and potatoes sound.

"Upgraded" huh? How many gears does it have? ;D No, really, we're sorry to lose you on the light side. Pop in sometime and let us know what 7-string and EMGs you buy.

call back and upgrade to a quickrod !!!! the nitro is a great amp but I didn't find it to be very versatal. If your looking to nail the sykes tone I think it would be easier with the Q R . . Just my 2 cents . Ok let the hail storm begin ;D

hi guys theres no seven string emg guitars in my collection..never will be either..not my thing!! from all the research and demo's ive been listening and watching etc..i think i just prefered the type of gain from the nitro.. im not really looking for a mega versatile amp..i used to own an engl special edition.that was very versatile. but i love the splawn tone..hence my decision to buy one. i was just never 100% sure which one?? but after watching the clip of scott in his shop with vom and tj there..i thought thats it!! thats the sound i want.. thought it was spectacular sounding!! everyone is different about the kinda thing they want..same with the guitars we all choose.. many like myself are les paul players where other prefer fender, jackson, prs etc...

I actually think the Quickrod gets a great Sykes tone in third gear with either OD1 or OD2. Plus you can throttle it down for a more AC/DC tone or anywhere in between. I do love the Nitro though. At the 2007 convention, it was awesome. The one thing that these clips(i.e.Quickrod, Super stock or the Nitro) can not convey, is how much thump and tight low end these amps deliver.

I think Vom said it best. Still the same tone, just a little more saturation. Shred, this year it will not be a problem at all. Hopefully I will feel a little better so I can hang out a little longer.
