Sometimes the edgy unprocessed tone of the Nitro is too heavy for some people and something along the lines of a Crate or a Gorilla amp is better for them.

I haven't tried a Diezel Herbert but I have spent $15,000.00 in the last five years trying to find the right amp for me. The Nitro ends it for me. It is the amp!!! I can't see how anyone seeking a metal amp doesn't like it. It does sound like the clips... it does sound like Scott playnig in his shop. But then again, I have a VERY special Nitro so maby it's just my Nitro that I like. However, the rhythm guitarist in my band has the kt88 version and it is also amazing.

Ok let's state facts....... The Nitro Kills!!!!! Fact! I don't care if you play country, blues, metal, etc. etc. If you're a player ( and me making that statement will conjur up some negative remarks headed my way. Screw it bring it on) there's no way you could plug into that or any other Splawn amp and say "That's a bad amp and I don't like the tone" There's just no way. I'm saying in this post what everyone feels and what everyone walks on eggshells as to not offend anyone on this forum. If this offends you then I'm sorry this is my opinion based on over 20 years of playing experience. The Splawn (any type of model)......Kills!!!!!!!!!! Even if you don't like it. If you know anything about tone there's no way you can give any of Scott Splawn's amps any type of negative review. They're awesome amps. Now you can say they're not your cup of tea. Whatever. That's your opinion and that's accepted here on this forum. We're not the Third Reich and aren't trying to make anyone conform to anything. But ............To plug into a Splawn and say anything negative is just ludicrous... That's right I said Ludicrous!!!! If you're a player and you appreciate tone then you just can't say anything bad about a Splawn amp. There's no mic'ing it any crazy way with any attenuator or power soak in the clips. It's us and Scott giving honest examples of what his amp's sound like on all clips posted on this forum. Do these clips sound like the amps straight out of the box?? Yeah they do. Deal with it. :-) If you blame the amp on not sounding like the clips then that's your fault not Scott Splawn or his amps. You just suck!!! Work on your skills and realize you're playing a boutique, genius amplifier. It's not a forgiving amp model. It's made for gigging!!!! It's a 100 watt head. It's made to play loud. If you give it up after one day in your bedroom and sell it then I don't know what to say to you? It's a players amp that's meant to breathe at a certain volume. If you say "there's a reason there's so many Nitro's for sale" then you're mistaken and pretty much trying to justify your own suck. You never spent an honest time with the amp so your posts here (even though they're your own opinion) won't hold much validation. If you want your posts to hold merit then keep the amp for a while and post some clips of yourself playing through the amp and we'll be able to distinguish a lot more about you, your tone, your opinion and your playing. I don't ask this of you. I challenge you to do so. Pucker up buttercup! I in turn will answer any challenge you ask of me. I'm not one sided. I've posted my clips. My clips were done with a splawn. Why? Because Splawns rule!!

he's reiterating what we've said a billion times...you may or may not like the voicing, but you certainly can't knock the quality

Why? Because Splawns rule!! I have a question for you.I am going to give the Nitro it second run tonight.I have a kt77 model.how would I get this amp into the realm of an Engl powerball(yes i do know they are completely dif' amps)or say a framus cobra.I bought this amp in the hopes it would destroy my powerball.I want to play Splawn because not many techs are familiar with Engl amps and if there is ever a problem they will more than likely fix the problem but they may not know what the amp suppose to sound like to be sure it has been fixed correctly.I am running the nitro thru a pair of Vader 412 cabs with either an 85 Jackson soloist with an emg89 and a Charvel model 6 with a dimarzio steves special.
