Dude...that's actually a NICE cab!! Just looked it up. My only concern is that I'd like a 8ohm mono setup..this way I can use it as my main cab but still run a second line out from the amp to my Marshall if I ever needed to which is also 8 ohm mono. I feel it's easier that way because I can never remember whether to add or subtract ohm to determine the load...lol
I just want it nice and foolproof(me-proof haha!)

I was also looking at Peter Mather's cabs as well. I've read a lot of good about them too

I just spent a good chunk of today emailing back and forth with Daniel from Port City. He suggested an Et-65/vet30 combo for speakers in a 2x12. I told him exactly what I was looking for in a tone. I was a little surprised at the vet30 suggestion since its WGS's take on a V30. He explained that the Vet30 actually pulls down the high mids that the V30 has. I'm willing to give them a shot. The guy obviously knows what he's doing. However I'll have to put buying that cabinet off for a little bit. With those speakers and shipping costs it's $900!!!! So are you not getting the Small Blocks now? OR - what exactly have you settled on doing at this moment in time?

Dude...that cab is SWEET!! About a year ago I had a Friedman amp that he built from a Marshall Bluesbreaker. It was a one of a kind amp. It had its own road case similar to what you posted. One thing I will say....that F-er was HEAVY. I'm sure your cab is much lighter than this amp was though. Thanks man! It's really heavy, double ply birch and if you remember it's loaded with two Ev12Ls so I can imagine it will be pretty heavy once I get the case. I think I want one cab staind and the other covered with black tolex, that way ones for shows and others for a practice space/ jams. The stained one will go great with my snake skin Splawn and the black tolex one with match the plexi splawn, plus I'm thinking of installing cream backs in that one. Man it's crazy how this stuff is so expensive!!

Thanks man!! I'll look into that one. I do like the look of the newer style better but it's not a deal breaker by any means

Here's some pics of my Seismic cab I just got. It has a governor and a veteran 30 in it. I am probably going to sell it now because I don't need 2 cabs.

What are your thoughts on the Vet30 with the Splawn? I was under the impression that the regular Celestion v30 wasn't the best speaker due to its high mids. I wasn't sure about the WGS speakers since it's their take on a V30. But when I talked to Daniel from Port City amps he recommended the vet30/et-60 combo citing that the vet30 actually pulled the high mids down quite a bit. I'm curious as to your experience...

Compared to my EVH cab with greenbacks, the Veteran 30 combined with Governor sound a bit brighter and punchier but not overwhelmingly. Feel is a little tighter. It's not ice picky at all. Just more clarity compared to the greenbacks. I like both but if I someone put a gun to my head and said choose...... I would take greenbacks with my Splawn.

Thanks, that's what i was wondering. I've heard lots of good reviews on the WGS speakers but I have no experience with them. I should be receiving my small blocks this coming week. So I'm excited to hear the improvement with my QR and the SB.
