;D Now, DD, don't feed the animals. If I might just bring us back on track here: the dirty deed is done. Pics and impressions upon arrival. (Let's just hope I keep hold of it longer than Shred did his $79 closeout Laguna Atlantic Cod Strat.) I re-christen you with a name that will defy the ages..a name that will go down in the tomes of myth and legend and this is how you repay me? THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME YOU HAGGAS EATING SCOTTISH fook? just remember this..while I was destroying my hearing with my QR, you were jacking off to Yngwie sucking in his bloated cheeks on the Facing The Animal Cover! enjoy your LP copy, flapjack...

Mmmm, that is a hot photo.
C'mon, babe, we're all friends here! I thank you for my timeless and epic new moniker, and for your Edwards impressions that I sought elsewhere and which made me a better informed buyer (I specifically asked the dewd about tuning/nut issues).
Is this something a hug would solve?

NICE! What color is that? I was out to dinner when that LP Custom ended and it sold for $610. Damn, that would have been a good price. Oh well, I couldn't afford it anyway.

She's purdy ain't she? ;D That's the Vintage Honey Burst color. Lots of nice marmalade orange that the Edwards website pic doesn't have. They seem to be a bit variable. $610 would have been NICE for your Custom, that's for sure. I made an offer on this one that to my surprise was not counter-offered but flat accepted. It's the 98 LTS with the spritz of nitro. Only around an hour on it today after it arrived, but the things I read are true: resonant, no dead spots, sustains madly, fit and finish seem superb. I was very soon lost in a long sour-faced solo of 1st Gear indulgence! The bridge pup, a JB I think, isn't my favorite, but I was never planning to keep it anyway. This all started because I had an Alnico II Pro and wanted something to put it in, lol. The 59 in the neck sounds great. That was already one of my favorite pups with the Splawn, and that was in a basswood Ibanez. In a giant (one piece!) chunk of mahogany it's even better. Guy included a nice new hard case (gig bag is standard) and the truss tool, manual, warranty etc. Don't need 'em of course but they're nice and Japanese. One illustration seems to suggest you will snap the headstock off if you play sliding along on your knees. The sweet color, aged bits, and couple years of play give it that reach out and grab me appeal. Digging the completely different vibe from my other guitars. This is #13, but I've got nothing remotely Les Paulish or short scale, nothing with that balance, neck/bridge angle etc., and only one other mahogany, which has a Floyd and a thin neck. Need to keep picking away on it, don't want to celebrate too early. Hopefully find no flaws like Shred's tuning issues.

So what's the scoop Ayton. still digging it? Worth the price?
Someone on another forum wants to sell me their custom for $800. I have the cash in PP from selling everything I could think of but I am wondering if I should pay my CC debt instead. ;D I was really hoping to score one for less than $700 as I have seen a few go for that cheap.

Sorry man, I was away on a little road trip.
Yes! Still digging it, loving that crazy resonance/sustain. The stock JB is out of the bridge (silly nasal pickup) with the Alnico II Pro in there instead, great match. The guitar sings and sings, man. Would definitely buy again.
I see no reason to jump on that deal, though, seems a pretty usual used price. Do you know if it's a 98 or a 92?

So I am thinking of changing the pickups if I decide to keep it. I am not digging the JB pickup all that much. The only thing that might deter me from keeping it is that the neck is a lot thinner than I thought. It’s almost like a 60’s profile. I prefer chunky necks, but I’ll see if I can jive with it.
