I never was emailed a tracking number....so much to my surprise my Nitro arrived this morning. This amp is heavy and I mean carrying it. It is also the loudest thing I have ever heard. My soundman is gonna have a fit when I show up with this !
I place pics/thoughts in a few days. I unfortunately have to work tonight and a 14 hour day on Wednesday so I won't get to air this baby out much.
Initial plug in made me think something was awful wrong with the amp. I had the fx set wrong for pedals. Once I fixed that and dropped to 50 watts I have been in shred city ever since.
Ok....back to playing until I have to leave for work.....

Wow the volume taper on the Nitro is odd ! It goes from barely audible to floor shaking in no time.

Oh I love delay too much to bypass the loop ! Just a hint of slapback. However, maybe I will try without the loop. I may find I don;t need it after all. I'm doubtful but I'll certainly try it !

8-)Congrats! Mine is due to arrive next month and I can't wait! ;D Mine may have been delayed another week because I went with custom graphics and I changed my order from a QR to a Nitro like 2 weeks ago. I do not regret that but I still want a QR. I'm off next week and I plan on posting some video. I have a gig this weekend but its outdoors at a Haunted House ( don't ask....it paid well is all I can say ) so I don't think I'll use the Nitro for a gig until next weekend.

Confirmation type question : I run the amp at 50 watts into a 8 ohm cab. Therefore, I should use the 4 ohm line out of the amp into the 8 ohm cab. Is this correct ? I believe it is but just want to confirm.

I think that's right. But, you should look at the Splawn User's Manual, which is posted on the Splawn site somewhere. I can't find mine right now.

Yep, you got it, this is from the manual: WARNING: The half power switch disconnects the two outside power tubes. You will need to set the ohm selector on the amp to half of what the speaker cab ohm load is. Mismatching the Amp Impedance with a cabinet may harm the amp! Always double check the Impedance on all Connected equipment. Example: One 16 ohm speaker cabinet, running in the half power position, Impedance on the Amplifier at 8 ohms. www.guitarstudio.tv/Splawn/Splawn%20Manual%20rev-3-3.pdf

Played my first gig last weekend and ........ let me say that you must make sure you have your fx loop set correctly for a stompbox or rack gear.....if you do not then your amp will sound as bad as mine at your first Nitro using gig.....

For the gig I was just using a TC Electronics vintage delay. Now I am using a EB volume pedal > TC delay.

Why was delay making your tone sound like crap?
