Just downloaded Van Halen's "me wise magic" tune. What a brilliant masterpiece!!!! The changes, the timing... Its just sick! What the H---L happend to Mr VH???

Can't Get This Stuff No More and Humans Being are great tunes also. They are on Best Of Volume 1.

I agree,
It really sounded like Eddie was getting back to some cool riffage on Me Wise Magic and CGTSNM. I was totally into Without You when I heard it on the radio then bought VH3 and it just sucked,, then these past years 2 new songs,, oh man. Horrible.
His tone on Balance was fantastic, but theres only like 4 tunes on it I can even listen to.
F.*.C.K was the last good VH IMO.

I know I am probably in the minority here, but...I think EVH was red hot on 1st album...hot on second album...then on crack....and still smoking crack...(exception songs: Mean Streets, Panama, Hot For Teacher, Everybody wants some, cathedral, a few tunes on Balance...7th seal etc..)...I think EVH did albums one and two and then aliens abducted him....

balance is my least favorite VH album...hell VH3 was better than balance...half the album is dumb instrumentals...the only GREAT song on there is "aftershock"

I'm not a 'Van-Hagar' fan....but, I'm not that big on DLR either...DLR is the lesser of 2 evils IMHO..I want the old eddie back with an updated/upgraded chops module installed...

To me DLR was the altimate R&R singer. Cool lyrics and phrasing as well and one of the most killer & recognizable voices in the Biz. Though I used to dig lots of 80's metal stuff its seemed most of the lyrical stuff was very cheezy. Hagar though he had a strong voice it was annoying at times and to generic. I thought the Hagar era VH had a few really good tunes on each record but also had some eh tunes. Oh well it happens to everyone... U can't stay on top forever.

I remember in the early days trying to figure out what the heck DLR was saying/singing we were doing 'Dead or Alive' and just cracking up at all the 'mumbo-jumbo' and smack that guy brings...our singer only did a portion of the blabbing and I'm still not sure what the heck that song was about...something about a sheriff with a pick-up truck and a 'dirty face kid in a garbage can...eeeeeeewwwwwwwwyyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!' what the?? fun song to play though...just can't do the 'just a gigalo' thing NO WAY!!!
