I recently sold a JVM 205H simply because if there is a splawn in the house........you will never use the Marshall. Will collect dust. Sell it and use money to buy good cab and green backs is my advice. Marshall cabs are ok but build quality is not as good as a splawns or evh etc. The back of marshalls are pressed wood! Yeah, I've been shopping, and shopping....for a cab/ speakers. For the money, I really think a Splawn cab is the way to go.

Even an Avatar with creambacks is just under $600 shipped.

Avatar makes good stuff. Speaking of cabs, I missed out on a perfect Marshall 1960A Classic over the weekend. Grrr!

A 2X12 in my opinion is so much easier to control in a live environment. Especially when it's a small stage.

Right....and nowadays the 212's being made are killer. In my last band I was using my Marshall 1936 and the other guitar player used a Marshall 412....imo the 1936 sounded just as good if not better and just as "big" too. Most gigs I play are small to medium venues where the 412 is just too much, as you stated.

I would not do it. I'd sell the amp and have that money. Once you get you quickrod all the other Marshall amps are just going to sit there, or at least that's what happened to me. That's just me. Exactly. Just like this chart says. I 'modded' this chart years ago and forgot about it. hahahahahahahaha

^ except I just realized the JVM is not even on there. Shows you how old the chart is. Even though I'm not a fan of the JVM - it does tick a lot of boxes.

I noticed that it wasn't there but the list still kicks ass. The JVM does indeed tick quite a few of those boxes. The other day when I went to that guys house that was interested in the amp, when he was playing it it did sound really good, I have to admit. My biggest problem with the JVM is that is just doesn't have the right "feel", if that makes sense. My JCM 800 just has MOJO man. Yes, it does need to be boosted to get into modern gain territory but man, it just drips tone. The JVM sounds good but it just doesn't have the same magic.

We should send that to Marshall to update their website.

That was not made by Marshall. I'm not sure who made it. All I did was add the last row ..
