IIRC the Smallblock is a 55w version of the Greenback.

Ive only heard good things about the small blocks. But the cream backs a phenomenal, probably my first choice after the Ev12L. But then again I've never tried the small blocks. Speakers at very important.

IIRC the Smallblock is a 55w version of the Greenback. No kidding? I didn't know that. I've listened to a bunch of YouTube clips featuring those speakers and they all sound real good.

Holy smokes that's the same guy that got me to get the Ev12L. Hey is hey on the forum? The guy with all the Pancakes on his Avatar? Don't know. The actual Splawn website (under cabs) also lists the Small Block as a derivative of the G12M Heritage. I checked after reading that pickroar article again. I also understand that Scott has WGS Speakers also making speakers for him. That said, the 'Small Block' is not available from any manufacturer in any form, only sold to Scott.

Apparently, according to the article, Eminence makes the small block.

That's old. They may still make them for Scott, but WGS was picked up recently. I think to give Scott some options. Hard to say how many of each come from where. That's why I used the term 'also'. I thought everyone knew that Eminence has historically made the Small Block and Big Blocks for Scott

I looked at the WGS website yesterday. They have some good prices on their stuff. The more I read about them the more positive reviews I'm seeing.
I'm new to Splawn so I had no idea who made Scott's speakers until I read the article posted above.

^ yeah - sorry man. I didn't mean to come across like a jerk. I need to learn to tone it down a bit. Yeah - WarehouseGuitarSpeakers makes some great clones for the money (I hear). Also look into the HellaTone brand that Avatar uses. They are simply relabeled and broken in originals (not used - just broken in) and sell for less than the originals. Not sure exactly who does the breaking in and relabeling.

I recently sold a JVM 205H simply because if there is a splawn in the house........you will never use the Marshall. Will collect dust. Sell it and use money to buy good cab and green backs is my advice. Marshall cabs are ok but build quality is not as good as a splawns or evh etc. The back of marshalls are pressed wood!

I just came home from going over the guys house that contacted me about trading for the JCM 800. So, needless to say I DIDN'T trade. He had the JCM and a rockerverb and neither had the "wow" factor, so...
