They still are great and now hes playing Splawn. ha ha ha. I used to be in a band with the singer Gary (Robert Plant), hes awesome. Not only does he nail the Zep, you should hear that guy sing like Sammy Hagar and stuff.

Usually if I set my stage tone and think it's good and then walk out 100ft I find that I need less treble and more mids to cut thru. We don't have a soundman but our bass player has a wireless and he is the judge. Also...I tend to point the mic at roughly the same place on the speaker but when I'm recording just a little angle or placement makes a huge difference. Bottom line....your stage EQ/TONE sounds different out in the audience. MIDS are your friend. You should check if you can. For those lucky enough to afford a soundman.....disregard. the other guitar playe rin my band has a wireless..so when we do have to bring a pa, he's the soundguy

the one i have is great...at least to my ears...i don't hear any signal loss... and that's what I'm lookin' for..other than that, the nady was just fine...no hiss, noise, drop outs, etc, etc...I just dont' wanna bring it to a show and risk it gettin' damanged just to 'give it one more shot' if I wanna return it, ya know? so I'll stick with cords I think...

the other cool thing with this wireless is that you can probably do at least 3 full shows 10-1:30am on one battery...nice!

Man, now I'm feeling like a freak. I play in the same type band as Craig, and my setting seemed to have settled for the time being as follows: 2nd gear OD1, gain 10 oclock, bass 10 oclock, mid noon, treb 10:00, pres noon. Even at those settings our soundguy cuts the bass just a tad at the board, it's got PLENTY, I can feel my arm hairs move as it is. You guys all seem to run your gain and bass dimed.......to me that sounds good but is way overkill for those old school Lynch tones I like. I'm an oddball that way it appears. Now for solos, I like alot more gain, but not for rhythms.
FWIW, I find with more preamp gain the more mids I need, not the other way around.

I agree with you cowbell, but you can make those tones work on the Lynch, VH, Ozzy, etc,.. it all works. Plus I never play solos like the record, rarely if ever. So I adjust my gain for my own style not the cover tunes.. My cover band sound is the same as my orginal music sound. I make no distinction between the 2 at all, cause its all the same to me when it comes time for solos. I do prefer 1st gear OD1 for my rhythms though on everything.. wish I could have it both ways

I run everything close to noon, except the bass...around 2:00 or so, depending on the venue.

I do prefer 1st gear OD1 for my rhythms though on everything.. wish I could have it both ways Yeah I think we're not far apart on that point - in fact I may be trying a gig in 1st gear coming up, see what happens. I seem to like quite a gain differendce in my rhythm tone vs my lead tone, which is why I use 2nd gear OD1 with not alot of gain and then for solos I add a small dab of TS9 along with the solo boost. I have a Keeley TS9 that sounds pretty much identical to what 3rd gear does compared to 2nd gear, so that way I have the spread I'm looking for. I'm not a fan of effects, but having that TS9 sure comes in handy and it's doesn't change wreck my original tone
