yeah no sh!t.. I still play it for people at partys and stuff and am like WTF!? so crazy.. I know Voodoo Highway was technically 90's.. but Jakes riff on Soul Stealer friggin' still gives me goosebumps too. Especially the riff in the middle that starts at 1:19 on "Soul Stealer." Love that part. One of my favorite intro riffs is TNT's "10,000 Lovers." The beginning is great, but the rest of the song is a little ghey (except Ronni's solo).

Extreme - everything off the 1st 2 records. Um, do you mean their 2nd and 3rd record? The "Bark At The Moon" pre-bridge riff always slaughters.

No I mean the 1st 2.. self titled and pornograffiti. the first record had some of the best VH rip-off riffs ever recorded.. I still think is tone was best on the 1st one too. +1 on the TNT. Love that riff,, ghey song but that guy sure can sing.. the scary part is hes STILL that good. LeTekro always bummed me out though,, he held back on EVERY solo and you just know he had tons of chops but never really recorded much of it. I bet he wishes he did now.

Extreme 1 and 2 for sure. Everything on them was great
Loudness "Rock and Roll Crazy nights" and "let it go"
Ratt "Lay it down" Quite possibly the best drop D riff ever recorded
Fastway "say what you will"
Iron Maiden "Number of the beast"
Streets "Move on" Great guitar solo in this one too!
Night Ranger "Sing me away" "Rumors in the air" "Eddies comin out tonight" Etc. etc.

Oooooohhh.. 80's riffage! Ratt - Lay it Down. That riff still floors me.. VH -Unchained - Best riff ever? VH - House of Pain - sick tone and when the drums kick in its bad ass. Racer X - Gone Too far - one of the sickest riffs ever! Loudness - Let it Go Ozzy - Never - I still have no idea what Jake is doing on that one,, Dokken - everything off Back for the attack Extreme - everything off the 1st 2 records. So DC, I am sad to say that I had never heard of the tune "Never"...and since you joked (i'm sure you actually know what is going on in the tune!) ....I searched Youtube and found this dude ripping it up. Wow! Awesome freaking song man! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNWU8TxeX7g

oh man. thats really tough....
Ratt - Lay it Down - this is my go to riff for trying out 80s amps. its just raunchy and in your face Van Halen - Unchained - everything about it is SO good, not just the intro, don't forget the verse part Guns N' Roses - Nightrain - Not much to say, it's just an epic riff. great tone. Def Leppard - Women/Photograph/Rock of Ages - kind of a three way tie for me, all are SO good, Women, is so mood setting. Photograph is like an iconic 80s riff anyways and Rock of Ages if just down and dirty Rock'n'Roll
