Yeah, how does "butt" = people who can play and don't use the same receptacle for their cereal and hair styling? I don’t get that one. So you are saying only 80’s butt rock guys can play and that they aren’t into hair styling? lol

I would really like to try that 59 Custom hybrid they invented over at the SD forum. They take one bobbin off a Custom 5 and one off a 59 then tape it all up. I think it would really rip, but those bobbin connections are f'n tiny for soldering. Everyone seems to love it, though. hmmmmmmm..maybe that'll end up in a new production pickup from SD..that's how the custom came about..or was that the custom custom? been thinking of putting a 59 in the neck of my epi...not really happy with the air norton I have in there now....it's ok I guess..but it seems kinda...flat...no personality...dig? Apparently SD can't sell it because DiMarzio owns the patent on this kind of unbalanced design. The 59 sounds nice enough in the neck of my Edwards, smooth and classic, but so much better in the Charvel! If you've seen the new video, the neck tone is just gorgeous. I suppose the added tone pot and mahog darken it up a lot in the Edwards, which leads me to believe it might not be the best choice for you and your Epi. Actually, you had this type of Edwards, so I guess you'll know what to expect from that pickup in an LP type guitar. I have a Burstbucker 2 coming for that slot as Gary Moore is probably my 'neck pickup LP' tone goal. Thinking of converting to 50s wiring when I put that in, too, to complete the package. Oh it never ends.

Hard to tell....I really don't know what to do about neck pickups.....as much of a duncan guy as I am, I'm not really in love with many of their neck pickups....which is why I went with the air norton..and that ain't workign out either =( not tha tI'm on it all the time so it's not a deal breaker right now... those burst buckers are supposed to be cool..I never heard one in person though

Agreed, I like the Jb alot.. I like the BBQ alot too.. I cant decide which one I like better but I use them both and like them both alot. Seemed like you weren't cutting like normal when I went out to see you guys a few weeks ago, and I remember you were using your refretted PRS which has the BBQ in it IIRC. Your mahogany Guyton with the JB seems to cut like crazy.
