Hi Guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Carl Roa and I am the newest Splawn endorser! Scott is building me a Nitro now that I should have in a few weeks. Can't wait! Will be using it on tracks for my next CD due out later this year.
I was introduced to the awesome tones of Splawn amps from my friend Tony Rombola. Tony has both the Quick Rod and Nitro ... both sounded awesome. I actually picked up one of Tony's 4x12 cabs and took it back to my studio here ... and I am equally impressed with the Splawn cabs. The cab I have here has the Big Block speakers, and I am getting one with the Small Blacks with the new Nitro.
Lot's of Splawn tinted music ahead!
Carl

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words! Much appreciated! Very excited to be part of the Splawn family. Been talking to Scott and I plan on doing a series of video on all the Splawn gear. (starting with the Nitro) Also hope to take part in some Splawn demos at NAMM in January. Splawn really does make some awesome gear and more people need to know about it! Hoping to spread the word with the videos, shows, my new CD and a new instructional DVD. All coming soon.

congrats on the new amp..don't tell anybody on RT though...you may very likely be stoned!!!! LOL I don't see too many Splawn posts on Rig Talk ... but I'll fix that. Will get some videos done asap highlighting the awesome tones of the Nitro and Splawn cabs. Already had my friend Ralph (Gainfreak on RT) over to my studio ... and he was blown away with the Splawn 4x12. He actually brought over his Marshall cab ... we also tested my Marshall and a Cornford 4x12. Ralph's 4x12 couldn't hold a candle to the Splawn. (He did make a post about this over at RT) The Cornford and Splawn were both awesome, just different. We both did find the Splawn a bit easier to play through. The Cornford had V30s and the Splawn was loaded with Big Blocks.

I don't really post much on there these days....I mostly lurk the Big blocks are cool speakers...I'm not a huge fan of V30s in general...the smallblock 25s are really nice

I do like the Big Blocks. I'll be getting another 4x12 with either Small or Big Blocks once I can compare in the studio. The new 4x12 will be my primary live cab.

Hey Carl,
This is Chris. I am the guy who was at Greg's house a couple months ago and brought out my Nitro. It may have been the first time you heard the Nitro, not sure but I remember everyone digging it that was there. The Nitro is awesome as you know, Ive owned most of the high gainers out there and it can hang with the best of them. I ended up getting a newer 2010 model and compared it to the older 2008 model I had that was at Greg's. A few things have been tweaked in production of the amp since the first models. They both sounded great either way. Heres the thing though if I were to have a new one built I would ask Scott to do a mixture of the two....I can go in to detail if you want man just p.m. me here or on rigtalk.
As far as the splawn cab goes it really is one of the best out there... The sound of the cab itself is clear and focused, it has a good amount of bass and projects very well. I own 2 splawn cabs at the moment. 1 of them with v30's and 1 with Scumbacks. I have tried lots of different speakers in the splawn cabs including the small blocks. Like I said the cabs are awesome it just comes down to deciding which speakers work best for you.
Enjoy man !

Thanks for bringing it to the ampfest! Then I got to hang out with Tony Rombola and I checked out his Splawns ... he has a really nice set up. And I was really impressed with both the Splawn amps and cab. Then Tony told me how cool Splawn was to work with ... and I was sold! Thanks again, Carl
