Well hes playing guitar better than Van Halen did on that last tour.
..but hey who cares if hes playing a sports bar? He sold 5 million+ very influential records. He surely doesn't have to prove anything at this point. I'd rather see him at a club then never play again.
..all the best players I know play small clubs and sports bars ... not arenas.

I've got no problem with the man playing sports bars or small clubs, in fact I think this video was shot at the opening of Dave Navarro's new place. I just feel a bit sad when these awesome players lose their edge. Jake is one of my all time favourites and he just seems tired. If Warren and Lynch can stay sweet, why not Jake?

Yeah I dunno man.. Warren is about 75% of his old chops. He was great when we played with them a few weeks ago, but not like Invasion-era great. Hes all blues now very little chops. ..and Lynch.. c'mon hes OK.. but hes super inconsistent. Sometimes he sounds good and sometimes he sounds f'ing horrible nowadays.
If Jake just started playing cubs again,, give him 6 months to a year and I guarantee he'll be playing better. Hes not used to playing 2-4nights a week like us club dogs..

You're definitely right DC.....and anyway, wasn't he underground for quite awhile? When you're used to burrowing after years of being front and center, I would think it might be a bit scary to step back into the light, especially now that he's not a spring chicken anymore, but at least he's out there giving it a shot...

I just finished listening to some Jake. Ultimate sin. Nothing but great work. Bark at the moon. Crazy good playing. I don't care if the guy isn't playing like he used to. He was out of it for a long time. His catalog speaks for itself. Amazing player! IMO the best player Ozzy ever had in his band.

You're 100% right with Lynch. Maybe not the best example, but he still scares me on occasion and that's what I like from the originals. Like TJ, I had a listen back through Jakes work and If I had output like that, I'd be a happy man. Really fresh and vital sounding. I even hit Badlands which is maybe more where he's at these days. I think the thing for me is that Guitar is a staple in my everyday. I pick one up and try to be useful as often as I can and I think this is common for most players. So, I wonder If Jake just hasn't been it that place for a while. I didn't know he'd fallen off the map, just hadn't heard what he was upto. He'll always be a legend and maybe he'll find his swing again.

Ultimate Sin = BEST OZZY ALBUM EVER...period.... I love the semi-clean and feedback overdubs he uses on that album. It just reeks of Jake, even more than Ozzy. You notice how Secret Loser has a little Round and Round going on? Not sure which came first mind you. You guys heard Scream just yet. It's the first Ozzy album I've actually been able to listen to since No More Tear. Gus seems a little generic but at least he sounds good.

I am so sick of Ozzy it's not even funny....lol...as a personality, as a 'musician/band'...

Hahah well no arguments there, he has been a parody of himself for the last 20 years and Zakk made that worse. We have Iggy Pop doing car insurance ads over here at the moment..I think the world is just falling apart.
The Blackstars do sound good though. Not Splawn good, but better than modern Marshall.

car insurance!!! LOL....I never really got the whole Iggy Pop thing =D
I actually think No Rest for the Wicked was also one of the best Ozzy albums...but I'm tired of all the other zakk stuff
