I was listening to XM 42 radio today and they played a track off of the new, soon to be released KSE cd.....Good Lord was it huge with the Nitro's!! Now that's tone my brutha's!! I've been dying to hear what they would sound like with Splawn amps and it was better than I expected. Really makes me proud to own a Nitro ;D Here's a link, enjoy : www.roadrunnerrecords.com/music/view.aspx?songID=2489

That is the best tone they have had to date. Less gritty, aggressive, tight, and smooth on the top end. I'm biased to Splawn, but they have found the holy grail! The song on the other hand Eh? I need to hear the rest of the album!

After my second listen I'm wishing Howard would sing more and do less screaming on the track.

Didn't they use a bunch of amps on the new album? I heard they used a Diezel VH4 on another forum as well as a few other pieces...

Ill tell you i saw what they use on the new record, old 5150, mesa boogie dual rect, marshall vintage modern, and splawn nitro. wrong! this is their first album ever without 5150 head! no mesa recto on this album also! they used VH4 as a main amp and Splawn Nitro for overdubs, also saw an interview with Joel and he said: Nitro, VH4, Fuchs Viper and Orange (don´t know which one though) but i can ask him to know it exactly on june 19th

I've been a die hard fan since my stepson played fixation on the darkness for me about 4 years ago. After hearing some of the new stuff I'm kinda getting scared. It sounds to me(will reserve final analysis till whole cd is heard) like they should LEAVE ADAM ALONE!! and let him do his thing. Did not like the my curse remix for the radio. Does anyone know was it killswitches idea to bring in a producer or the label?

One of those pics with the OD808 on the floor looks like the Tone knob is cranked up to around 3 o'clock. That has to be bright.

well joelaroint be affraid..be very affraid!!! this new cd BLOWS!!! i listened to it again and it got A LOT worse on the second pass,i was at my friends house that got the promo of it and we gave it a spin..i put a little piece about my first listen of it in the music section but wanted to post here as well. the tone is HUGE!! but after that (aside from SOME cool riffs) it SUCKS!! my friend said it best "it sounds like howard is crying about losing his dog!!" way too mellow,no flow,up and down through the whole cd.
i own every one of their cd's and their last was(IMO) a step back but this is a HUGE leap back!!! i want howard to go back to blood has been shed and do a real cd!! you know what they say...opinions are like a$$holes..everyone has got one but i will be REALLY shocked if a ton of their fans are not as pi$$ed at this one as i am..i will not buy it..not for $1.99 in a used bin just to have it since i have the rest of their discs!! rating 3/10 (just for the tone!!) 1/10 on the music!!

What's so terrible about it? Just curious, as I'm not a huge KSE fan and I haven't heard anything from the new album yet.

What's so terrible about it? Just curious, as I'm not a huge KSE fan and I haven't heard anything from the new album yet. So far I "like" reckoning but the other 2 songs I've heard are just to much fluff!! Almost like they're selling out to become more popular. Each cd they've done has sold more than the last one so why change? After finally finding some heavy metal music that makes me want to sing and run around the room with a POSITIVE message(death claims us no more-do not grieve-end your suffering-we will live-live eternal) and to loose that special something that makes me feel that way is REALLY BUMMING ME OUT!!!!!! I was never an old metalica fan(music was to angry for me)but I think now I understand how their fans felt after the black cd
