Hey! It was Andy's idea to do Cracker Barrel. Apparently the food in England is so f'ing bad that the fcking wankers over there think Cracker Barrel is good.

Hey Ayton
Not sure how old the wood is, it's been in the workshop for about a year. The good thing about it, aside from the figureing, is that it's REALLY hard and heavy. This makes Ideal neck wood! Combine that with a relatively light open grained mahogany body and you have a guitar that will really sing!!

Hi Andy, what are your thoughts on mahogany and alder as body woods with a maple neck? Is mahogany more compressed and midrangy? Is alder more open and resonant, and would that make it sound bigger?

Got to post my two main guitars 72 strat: Framus Camarillo (Handbuilt german guitar, real nice) Now that is an interesting bridge setup you have on the Strat. What's the story there?

Oh dear. I´ve always hated those six screw trad. whammys, so sometime in the 80s I had a Kahler put on there, it worked, but it did mess with the sound, so last year I had a repairman go over the guitar, putting on new nut (graphite), new tuners and a new two point pivot schaller whammy. I told the guy not to do any thing cosmetic, so the hole after the kahler remains a, well hole. It stays in tune, it sounds great and and I like the fact that I´ve had it like forever, and that every dent and nick has a story, I can recall. I can´t sense any loss of tone due to the missing wood behind the bridge.
My first guitar, had it since 82.
the bridge p.u. is a SD JB jr. It sounds like a sc, without the noise, it doesn´t sound anything like the jb´s that´s in the bridge position of all my other guitars

I do like the way that Schaller trem looks, reminds me of the very first floyd's...the one's without the fine tuners. I'll have to check them out.

I remember the early days of this thread, when we chose one main guitar like MetalHeart asked us to.

I'm chilled. I just liked MH's original idea of picking out your main axe. People do 'show off your gear' threads all the time, but being forced to choose one and say, "this is my baby," made it more interesting. I think it was a less-is-more kind of deal. Don't be offended.
