I hate to dominate this thread but yeah... its a real bummer when I read about how so and so can get away with some Ibanez, Peavey or Gibson stock off the shelf.. They just don't work for me. All the constant gigging and sweating has wore down the frets completely on 2 PRS's, those bridges are also hanging by a thread.. I completely destroyed a USA Wolfgang in under 2 years.. it literally fell apart from the cheap parts, crappy metal etc.. I'm just done with sh!tty production crap,, yes its ALL crap. If you think I'm wrong I dare anyone to play a year in my shoes.

true....it does seem like he sweats alot as well... it seems almost a sin to have such a fine instrument in the hands of a barely evolved ape like Craig..BUT, such is life I suppose That's too funny. Worthy of best quotes section IMO do it up! I don't think there's been an addition to that thread in a long time =) time to resurrect it!

Before Andy built my custom,, I let him check out my '89 PRS. He almost fainted..lol.. You can't even adjust the saddle height on the low E or A because I've worn the metal down to below where the screws are. He was the one to suggest TITANIUM! yeah.
I'm not SKINNY or FAT.. but man I sweat alot. I ruin switches, input jacks, any type of bridge that is not made of some amazing non-corrosive steel (havent found one yet) and pickups too..
The Mansel has been great, although I'm on my 2nd switch and 3rd input jack in 3 years. I'm hoping the little extras Andy did to the new one will finally be THE guitar that can withstand the abuse.

Craig I think you should start cleaning the man-cream from your hands before playing your guitars.

or you could just try and take of your guitars instead of manhandling them?

Does your sweat destroy your strings quickly too? Or do you change them often enough to not have to worry about it? I have tried the SOS strings before and they nearly lasted a year with no tarnish or rust or corrosion or even loss of snap!

a YEAR!? .. dude. Maybe if you play 1 hour a week. I change my strings about 50 times a year on average. Plus, if I leave them on for longer than a week or 2 I will break them, D string first, then A string, then high E.. so I change 'em. I never break the low E's or G's or B's for whatever reason.
I use 10 to 52's tuned standard or 1/2 step down depending on which band i'm playing in.

yeah, strings lasting a year? Not with regular playing. I mean, I can have them on there for a long time without breakage, but they sure don't sound good after such a long time on the guitar..lol
