Hey Splawners,
OK, here it is. The MAN himself, G.L., played my QuickRod at the Hal Leonard clinic in Bellevue, Wa. I met him at the Portland clinic on Thursday night. I had my QR with me then, but I didn't want to be pushy, so I just ended up having him sign it. He expressed STRONG interest in trying a Splawn for a spin and gave me his email to pass the contact info to him. I realized the next day, Friday, he'd be in WA. on Saturday and decided it was worth the 250 mile drive to give him the chance. I met him on Sat. afternoon before the clinic, had a chat and went down to the store. We set his stuff up and let it rip! He later commented that I'd been kind to bring it the distance and that it did INDEED sound GOOD! I unfortunately didn't get that comment on film, but he will be in contact with Scott VERY soon. He of course is still using his Randalls and is under contract to them. After the clinic was over and he finished the meet-n-greet, he was gracious enough to take me out for Thai food and EXCELLENT conversation. It reinforced my opinion of this GREAT artist. He's VERY articulate, A GREAT husband and father, and a true working class hero! At this point he could be in ANY line of work and I'd have HIGH regard for him. I'll post video as soon as I can figure out how to get them off of the disc I burned and up onto the forum. Scott has some short clips I sent in an email if anyone can be of assistance.
Support G.L.! New music out now with Souls Of We, new Lynch Mob soon. A G-3 style tour upcoming with Paul Gilbert and alternating shows with Richie Kotzen or Jake E. Lee!!!
Cheers all,
Crust1
