crustodd do you know what cab\speakers he was using? The cab is turned away from the crowd in the vid, I guess cause of the volume.

Hey Peeps, George ran the overdrives on at all times from what I saw. I think he may have had a delay in there too. I'll ask him pretty soon. Zakk may be "exposed" at some point. He and George are NEIGHBORS in L.A.! G. is supposed to be calling Scott this week. He's playing with the Mob in Vegas tonight. I'd like to see him experiment with a straight-into-the-head configuration, but pedals seem to be THE TONE SOURCE for MANY pros, from what George mentioned. The speaker cab was a Bogner, but I don't know what the speaks were. We tried my oversized 2/12", which George liked the idea of, but it has a Eminence Governor and a Celestion Vintage 30, I think and it sounded a bit too thin at the volume he was using. I had my THD 2/12" with me too, and I wish we'd have tried it. It sounds MUCH meatier. We realized afterwards that it may have worked better on the 1/2 power mode too. I'm messing with that setting and the THD currently and IT'S FIERCE! The TungSols seem to be accentuated by this arrangement. Again, I'll say it-Support G.L. He's SUPER nice, like Scott, and he's a WORKING CLASS HERO. He reminds me of the stuff I've always heard about the Young brothers, world famous and down-to-earth.
Splawn On T~

Oh by the way, When I can figure out how to reformat the vid. I shot, you all will find it MUCH clearer as I used a digital camera. Better sound too. The cab was turned around to spare the ears of the crowd. Oddly, I didn't find it to be all that loud.
HuH?? What did you type? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! HAHAHAHA!

Vom, you've turned enough people onto Splawns that Scott should probably launch a Custom Vom model. Two gain knobs, with Vans B&W checkerboard Tolex. Freaking sweet.

I have never used a boost with my Splawn. Never felt the need to, plenty of gain on tap. I may just try one to see what she sounds like and to add to the sustain a tad at low volumes. What pedal you fella's recommend??? I do want to get a MXR 10-band eq though. May do that tomorrow.

MXR 10 band EQ in the loop = Freakin' Fat tone baby
I always run an EQ in the loop . Fattens everything up and makes it cleaner/clearer but very chunky and heavy.Me likey. try it you just might like it.
