I just wanted to add a little of my musings on this years Splawnfest:
Scott and everyone at Splawn: thanks for building the best amps on earth!!! It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to talk to you. I can't say enough about your hospitality and the way you conduct yourself and your business...just WOW!
Vom: It was awesome to finally meet the man who first sold me the Vominator, talk VH and have you explain the way your rig works, Just a pleasure.
TuskerKevin and Dave: all I can say is "You did know on your way to Chris's house we were following you, right?" lol Also a pleasure to meet you both and seeing both of your skillz on the guitar!! Gene Simmons? really? lol
Supercharger350: FINALLY a Yankee fan that I really like other than my g/f! Just the sweetest guy you ever want to meet (can I say that w/o sounding gay?). So animated with your hands going and your facial expressions and your playing just absolutely slays. Your "Rick Allen" impression on the drums just cracked me the f' up!!
John: one funny guy here folks and he can sing too !!! lol
Screamin Saint: It was nice meeting you and I am glad you were able to shred on my BC Rich.BTW it is a ST-III model
Chris - Thanks so much for your hospitality at the after party jam. Your place to play is so cool and your set up was off the hook.
TJ: Geesh where do I start with this guy? Just mesmerizing playing, note choice and chord inversions. I really don't know what "It" is or where to find "It"..but TJ has "It" and in spades AND he can sing!! Just the total package and an unbridled passion for the guitar. And I will say it again for you...If I was wearing underwear that night I would have thrown them at you after "Life in a Northern Town" Your impression of shreder's playing still cracks me up!
DD: Nice meeting you after hearing about you from Shreder, very glad to finally meet you and spend ALOT time in the car with you shooting the sh!t. You got some chops dude, but I still think you were dogging all of us with the broken hand story j/k buddy hope to see you again real soon and hope to make it to a Hams show.
Shreder: my brother from another mother, what can I say that hasn't already been said in the car ride. I still think you boned my ex though lol....Next time we go get two beds in the room! I hate losing "rock, paper, scissors" and always getting to sleep in the wet spot in the bed lol cornholes and maglites my friend!!
Dirty Craig: Sure you weren't there and that disappointed me because now I was the only big fat guy there, but hopefully one day dude Don't get too down about not showing up, I know the guys ribbed you about not showing but they ALL had the nicest things to say about you as a player and a person!
And to everyone I may have missed and met, I didn't know you and you didn't know me but I am sure we crossed paths at the shop talked a little and maybe some of you played my Pink BC Rich, you were all nice and made the experience that much more enjoyable.
I had a great time meeting every one of you, you all can play that is for sure, and I promise next year I will play too. Just a little nervous with all the talent that you guys bring to the table. No egos and every one of you guys offered encouragement, help many laughs and a great time. I have been lurking here for awhile and it is finally nice to join and be added to your family here.
