The JVM and Nitro are two different amps aimed at 2 different niches. It's like asking who's better, the NY Giants or the Boston Celtics? Different games.

I'm back, thanks so much guys, this thread turned out great. I have a huge show here in STL this week and I got a deal on a jvm410h for a grand, so I'm taking that until further notice.

thats a great price.
keep the gains around noon or under, its easy to use too much with the JVM.
also be sure to try out OD 1 orange...its my fav channel/mode.

Try an mxr 10 band eq in the loop of your jvm ..It turned mine into a beast

I originally wanted a JVM and then someone on the Boogie Board mentioned Splawn which I had never heard of. I like the JVM but the build quality is suspect and the amp had some fizz to my ears. I still might try to pick up a used one in a year or two but for me the Nitro was the best way to go.

Well thats why the thread is Splawn vs. Marshall. I tried out the JVM liked it and got a great deal on one, I haven't tried out a splawn before and have no way to try one out. I'm sure they are amazing, but for now the JVM is much better than my solid state crate. Thanks for all the help and tips guys=]
