i was jamming on my nitro the other night and the tone was REALLY doing it for me. i haven't touched my quickrod a whole lot latey. don't get me wrong, i adore that amp, but the nitro has just been absolutely crushing lately since i re-tubed it. so i thought i'd start a thread to show some love for this beast of an amp. share your pics, stories, etc... here's mine. nitro "#1": with the pack:

man, that picture is so gas inducing, I love your rig Windsen. I love mine too, but it's nowhere near as beautiful as that setup. I'm loving my Nitro, having a lot of fun exploring different sounds it can bring. The Quickrod satisfies a whole different side of my cravings though, what a great combination. So what tubes are you running in it now Windsen?

Rik, the QR ain't going anywhere. I love that amp too.
chrismac, i think the black panel looks great! props on the handy work. my amps look so shiny b/c they are practically brand new. all the gear, except the 412 on the right (which you can tell is a bit dustier than the rest), are all less than a few months old. i sold my original splawn QR (doh!) to make way for the Nitro. other than that, i transport everything in roadcases, so everything stays pretty clean.
eric, thanks dude. +1 on the QR and Nitro excelling at their own things. right now i'm running kt77s in my nitro. i'm toying with the idea of trying EL34s again, but i probably won't get into that until next month when ill have some down time and can really experiment.

Have you ever talked to someone that's used the E34L in a Splawn? I was curious about them for a while, but never got to try them in an amp.

actually, i originally had el34s in my nitro. i liked it a lot, but the kt77s were tighter and punchier. thing is, the set of el34s that my nitro came with were rated very low. there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that the lower rating, when bias up accordingly, will yield a softer attack and earlier break up. so i feel like if i try some higher headroom el34s, i will like the results even more. stay tuned! =)

They are supposed to be a little higher headroom with more punch compared to a regular EL34, according to the Eurotubes description.

I tried those EL34L's in an old Marshall and really liked the results. Windsen, I can see you really liking those for the style of stuff you play, they are a great cross between something, say, like a KT77 and EL34. The EL34L's are a deeper sounding EL34. Just check with Scott and Eurotubes to make sure you can run them safely in the Splawn.

The Nitro is stupid good. Mine looks identical to Windsen's. I have been messing around with different speakers and cabs to find the right sound but I absolutely love this amp. The low end is rediculous and the clarity and cut are outstanding.
I have trouble trying to get the right settings between the amp and cab/speakers because the amp is so articulate that my picking can really be too much for the speakers at times. I have 2 Marshall JCM800 cabs and 2 Mesa cabs. I have swapped speakers around between the cabs and I have tried a mix of V30/Greenbacks, V30/Green Berets, V30/Reapers, Green Beret's/Reapers and I can't settle on what I like best. I have talked to Scott about buying his cabs/speakers and that may be the way to go once I get really comfortable with this beast.
I wanted to thank Windsen and Erock for their time and energy in helping me get my Nitro dialed in. It seriously blows away the other amps that I own.
