Hey ldm, how similliar are the Greenbacks and the Green Berets? Hard to say at this point since my Green Backs are broken in and my Green Beret's are new. I will say that the Green Back blend more with the V30's and tame the shrill end. The Green Back's are a little brighter and chirpier. Give me a few days (my ears are shot from tweaking the last few days...).

The Nitro is stupid good. Mine looks identical to Windsen's. I have been messing around with different speakers and cabs to find the right sound but I absolutely love this amp. The low end is rediculous and the clarity and cut are outstanding. I have trouble trying to get the right settings between the amp and cab/speakers because the amp is so articulate that my picking can really be too much for the speakers at times. I have 2 Marshall JCM800 cabs and 2 Mesa cabs. I have swapped speakers around between the cabs and I have tried a mix of V30/Greenbacks, V30/Green Berets, V30/Reapers, Green Beret's/Reapers and I can't settle on what I like best. I have talked to Scott about buying his cabs/speakers and that may be the way to go once I get really comfortable with this beast. I wanted to thank Windsen and Erock for their time and energy in helping me get my Nitro dialed in. It seriously blows away the other amps that I own. Hi Laura! nice to see you on the boards. Definitely want to hear what you settle on. I thought I liked my V30's with the Nitro, but I tried it thru my Texas Heats cab today, and I was really digging the results! I'm going to have to try some different speakers after what I was hearing today, I can only imagine how good the Splawn speakers sound with it.

I just bought Windsen's SB25's to check out in my 2x12 also. I keep thinking about selling my Marshall cabs and getting some Splawn stuff but I want to try a few more things before I go that route.

I had my 1st full band practice with my Nitro. HOLY CRAP, I LOVE this thing! I admit I was a little frustrated at first. I took the head to my local guitar store to show off my new toy. It sounded good, but I was by no means impressed. I just took a little time, I did some homework on what settings actually work from this forum. Got it dialed in & hooked up to my own cab and now it owns. Literally stomped our other guitarist 2ch Mesa 50 Rectifier into a mudhole. They sounded good together, but we all knew who was bringing the beef to the party. Can't say enough good things about this amp and all the people who are involved with Splawn!
P.S. Kudos to all you guys too for informing a noobie like me how to dial in killer tone from this beast.

I told you I thought it was going to stomp on the other guys Rectifier Any pics of that beast yet? When you were talking to me about the cosmetics I was thinking that thing was going to look killer.

I wanna post some pics but I am kinda computer retarded when it comes to that kinda stuff. My wife does photography so if all else fails I can have her help me. When I first got it, I took it to my local guitar shop to flaunt my new toy to everyone. They ran it through a oversized mesa cab w/V30's in it. It was tight and punchy but I didn't hear any of the super low mids or thunderous bass out of it like I thought I was going to. We switched it over to the clean channel and it was beyond super bright, probably un-useable. I normally have this type of problem due to the fact I have EMG's and always run the volume and tone on the guitar maxxed out, but never to this type of extent. So it was super bright and very sterile sounding. I left the store with alot to be desired. Then I hopped back on here & looked at some "settings" threads. I used that as kinda a starting point to get my flavor of tone. I took it to our practice space early to dial it in. Once I hooked it up to my marshall MF400 cab w/g12t-75's, suprise! their was all my massive low mids and punishing bass! I also fixed the clean by pushing the gain setting more than the channel volume. Now its a sparkley clean with no overbearing highs and some serious body to it. ANYWAY back to the point, I will try to get pics up as soon as I can/figure it out.

Funny how some of the posters in the original timeframe in which the thread was started have sold their Nitro's and did a 180 lol. I'm very happy with my Nitro, as soon as I plugged in at mousefart volume and heard the initial voicing, I knew I could work with it. I hope I get the opportunity to reunite with my friend/drummer for a chance to open it up and let it breathe, lol.
