My new Comp finally showe up last night. I didn't get a chance to play it much since I spent most of the time cleaning up all of the plastic packing peanutes off of the carpet. I must say it is a beautiful piece of equipment and it was assembled and packed perfectly. A pleasant suprise was that I got the new panel layout for the price of the old one. I placed my order before the chnage came about. Once I get this footswitch thing figured out I will let you all know how she sounds. I got this one the KT 77's. Kirk

Kirkster how long did you wait for the amp? I'm curious as well. I also snuck my Comp order in just before the price increase. I ordered it on July 20th. So I guess its been about 11 weeks and counting for me. I'm getting antsy ;D

Kirk,
Welcome to the club! Hope you're liking your new amp. As you well know, the Competition is only available DIRECT from Scott. It cannot be had through a dealer. I sort of let it slip in a moment of weakness that not just any Jabroni is qualified to own a Comp, and that Scott has an exhaustive questionnaire, FBI background search, as well as a rather lengthy interview process before deciding that a person is worthy of a Comp. As you can probably remember, the interview questions, insider info, and handshakes are TOP SECRET. I've been tortured by others on this forum to divulge the ritual, but so far have stonewalled these Jabronis and not leaked a thing. Just wanted to warn you.
Anyway, enjoy, and also: YOU ARE RAD. But, since you didn't break the wax paper, you already knew that.

I have been playing mine a bit today and it dosne't seem to have the saturaed tone like a QR as I hards on the Scott Splawn clips form the annual meeting. I am playing thhrough a g flex 2X12" cab. Could this be choking off the tone?

Could be a speaker thing, could be a volume thing. The Splawn saturation is different from other high-gainers or so I am told (I haven't owned anything but this and a Line 6). Not as saturated as other high-gainers. Took me some getting used to. But, these days it seems to be just fine.

kirkster, a lot of people, including me, feel at first that it doesn't have enough saturation. You need to give it a fews days to get used to the amp, try different eq settings, and let it break in a little.
