Gotta go with H on this one. Well said. I have never really been offended by anyone’s comments on the Splawn Forum. If anyone has noticed Davo hasn’t been around so much lately. I have been busy but I definitely think the forum has gone down hill (just my opinion.) My situation is that I Splawn mostly 9-5. I work with the IT people here and I know the IT manager looks at what people are looking at. Some of the stuff is totally questionable and I would have a lot of trouble (next to impossible) explaining away. I am all for letting your ideas fly but I had to fight and scratch my way to the top. I can’t see getting fired because someone just really had to put up that fart joke or worse. D Well, I am thrillled that I found Scotts site and his amps. I am a devout Christian also and to find someone like Scott and builds amazing amps is sooo rare in the RNR world. He told me to check out this forum also. I have learned soo much from all the guys on here about tone and amps. One big thing I really loved about this site was because it is sooo different that Harmony Central. I can surf this forum and learn plus not have to worry when my daughter walks by the computer. But the past couple days with the filter off I find myself being cautious whe she walks by just like I had to at HC. Thats what makes this forum sooo good. I do laugh alot at the humor on here but it seemed to be more fun when you had to be more creative coz the filter was on instead of in your face crude. If we leave it like it is ,how long before we turn into a HC type forum? I vote turn it back on.....just my 2 cents

I am going to weigh-in with the far-right wing nut perspective. I agree with Matty that a dude looking for specific info on an amp or other gear should not be subjected to our crass and admittedly rude sense of humor. At the same time, I don't feel other people's moral standards should be imposed on others who don't agree with them. I say we keep the gear, music, and all those other sections "pure" and that we ask Vom to add sections to discuss politics because a lot of us like doing so and enjoy hearing different points of view, especially when so many of them are so wrong. We should also have a section where the members who want to joke around and bash each other should be able to do so, because I can say for myself I have a blast doing it and it is great bonding, and I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If I am driving through Orlando for instance and my gas-guzzling Dodge Ram 2500 Crew-cab 4X4 with a HEMI breaks down, I know I could get in touch with DC and he would help me out the best he could. That goes for anybody here as far as I can tell. I really think we have a great bunch of guys here and I would hate to see TJ's "alternate lifestyle" or anything else break-up the "family". We are all unique characters and we all offer something different and worthy to the board. I remember a short time back when one of the brothers fell on a rough patch of bad luck for a short time. Nobody asked him what his religion, sexual preference, political affiliation, favorite band, or anything else was. They just stepped to the plate and did what they could to help, even if it was just something small. That's what it's about. Whether you are religious or not, trying to be the best human you can be. That's what we should be about here and in life. If you don't agree...go Phook yourself!! ;D

Thanks Davo.....I also agree with you on the IT dept. Ours is very strict here. And this forum gets me thru the day alot of times. I'm usually lurking even if I'm not logged on. There have been a few fired from here for silly internet things. Sometime I get a bit worried and just log out till I get home. Vom, I agree about the kid friendly sites. Thats all my child can surf. Our comp is in the main room of the house so I can monitor things. So when I'm on there in the main room, I try not to go to sites with alot of crude direct language. With filter on, she dont catch it as easy.

I say keep the Forum Splawn related..... God knows there are PLENTY of other places on-line to have religious and political debates and to bash and poke fun at anyone.
*thats my 1 cents worth* which is all I can afford due to hard times...
A HUGE part of my intrest in Splawn was the fact that it IS such a positive place and I respect Scotts devotion to whatever brought him to the place where he is & the products he has created and the service he provides.
I think its disrespectful to Him and the company to bring ANY of this stuff here.
I cuss like a sailor & I have VERY strong political views..... but not here.
I believe in free speech..... but I also believe in setting the rules in MY house..... I thought this was part of the Splawn house so I always try and treat it with the respect I would treat Scott in his house.

I will use my powers on Vom. VOM………………VOM…………..Look into Davo’s spinning disk. You must cut out all of the baloney on Splawn forum VOM…. you will not get Davo and H fired. VOM………VOM……..the power of GAS drives you to the truth….. At the count of three you will awaken and have no tolerance for the baloney. ONE…..TWO……THREE…. AWAKEN and rejoice. Vom,DC..........What a pleasure to hear some common sense spewed forth about this topic! The answer isn't in censorship. I know Ive only been here a short time, but I spent a lot of time over at the 18watt forum, and saw that place go right down the crapper. Dont let it happen here too...seems like a good group of guys hangin here....just my 2 cents.SN

This is a great bunch of guys here gtrwun. 95% of the time is good ,fun ,debates , mixed with creative comedy. I really enjoy this forum. Sometimes I'm in my office just cracking up at the comments. TJ's CDB song (with fiddle solo) had me rolling. Lots of different personalities here. Thats why I'm looking foward to the Splawn convention. Hopefully this will settle down now and get back to informative/fun discussions. And I hope Hacksaw comes back.

I think this is not the place for the latter two but other than that I think some people are taking this a bit too far. I am not seeing personal attacks and malicious name-calling like on other forums. It's still pretty civil overall. We're adults here, right?

I thought this was part of the Splawn house so I always try and treat it with the respect I would treat Scott in his house. +1 I'm not for censorship in any form . The problem with censorship is where does it stop? I do belive in respecting each other and if something offends someone then whoever is doing the offending should decide if they care enough about the other person to stop or just continue . We're all adults here and each one of us can decide for himself what he will or will not put up with . As far as the faggotisms I think its pretty funny .Its the profanity just for profanitys sake that I don't like. But thats just me . I think tusker had a good Idea , lets get back to discussing the amps . ;D
