I love my Lester...but the tragedy you've described is a very common problem according to the luthier I use. He claims that he fixes MANY headstocks on Lesters and that once they're repaired, they usually live long and toneful lives. Fortunately (knock on wood), my LP has been a horse. I've got a BBQ in the bridge and it is the thickest, meanest sounding guitar I've ever played. Right on. The Xcalibur is back in action now! That's what I named it along time ago during my King Arthur book phase. It's even engraved on the custom truss rod cover! I truley think there is no replacement for a Les Paul in terms of mean chunkiness. That's only if you're man enough to handle that slab of wood!

I love them,, if only they were a little more versatile I'd use one as my main axe.. but I just love the flexibility of the strat style stuff.. Scott told me my new one is about done,, should have it here perty soon! F#$K YEAH!

That's why I like the Strat. I can get a bunch of tones out of those guitars. Les Pauls are kind of a one trick pony. They do well at what they do!

LP do rock well. but I dont use it much, tear up the strats and buy another one.. hard for me to buy a LP that I like.

Too funny!!! it's true! lol I play full tilt in your face ALL the time LOL me too!! That's wy my Strat hasn't seen a gig in over 6 months. It was my main gigging guitar because of its versatililty but I have gone back to the LP because I just want to swim in chunky gobs of guitar punishment! p.s. shredder's not kidding, I've seen his gig and there was only one sound for every cover song no matter what genre...BREWTAL!!

Don't sweat it too much. Even Jerry Cantrell's "Cheetah" LP Custom suffered the same fate and it's still one of his favorite guitars. Just consider it war wounds and be thankful she's still playing and sounding good.

Uh!!! www.Fretgarage.com He does Scott's work. It is harder to fix other repairs and he is way backed up. You should be happy with it when you get it back. D
