Hey Shred,
Join the club. We are drummer-less and have been for 2 months. I actually played drums at the last studio session to cut an instrumental/intro track. It actually came out pretty decent.
What's worse is....I haven't played my freakin Splawn in more than 2 months!!!!! It's killing me. I can't hook it up in my apartment because I got a bunch of sissy crybaby neighbors. I crave to hear my Splawn tearing the paint off the walls!
It is a bitch man. I have had kept this band going for about 6 or 7 years with the bassist and various drummers. Its always the damn drummers!!!!!!!!

Its always the d**n drummers!!!!!!!! i feel ya, man...this is our third drummer in a year and a half...I feel like spinal tap! =D at least this dude's a keeper but the bassplayer is leavin' no later than january of the new year (who's also our 'booking guy' who decided that he's not gonna book anymore shows since he's leaving..so we have college kids in town and no PHUCKING SHOWS TO PLAY!!!) and the other guitar player is calling it quits too..who happens to own the PA..who happens to be SELLING the pa when he quits! I can't win for losing =( maybe I can kick the wife outta the house one of these weekends and you can swing by =) I know there's talk of a mini NJ amp fest in october sometime..you could always cruise to my house..then I'd cruise over to vlad's house who would drive up to amplifier's house

Sounds like you got a bit of a situation yourself! I thought keeping it a 3-piece would make it easier but I feel like Spinal Tap too! I would definitely be interested in the NJ amp fest if that happens. Keep me posted or give me a call because I don't come on here much anymore.

LOL Duel Mansel Tigers..........wouldn't that be something? ;D I jammed Bark at the Moon last week with a band called Concrete. They have this woman singing for them and she is killer. All 80s and late 70s hard rock and metal. Check em out: www.concreterocks.comOh, and these guys backed up George Lynch for a clinic a couple of years ago. I missed it! The drummer told me that playing Mr. Scary with the man was awesome!

here's what i realized in my 16 years of playing live gigs. it's almost a process of natural selection. you figure out who has the TALENT to play live, you figure out who has the TIME to play live, and you figure out who has the right REASONS to play live. you weed out all the people that don't meet these criteria and surround yourself w/ those that do. it's easier said than done and it takes alot of time and patience to go through this filtering process, but when you do you end up w/ a good group of people.

Vom is right on the money. Its as if the posers and wannabees attract eachother becauser they all talk the same smack and stand in the same corner watching US PLAY at every show... while I pretty much play with the same revolving group of 10 or so pro local dudes I have for the past 7 years I've been down here (Florida). I'm in the same situation, I'm in 3 working projects all 3 contain me and my drummer who also sings and plays guitar.. and the guys from Physical Graffitti who we swap members with constantly cause they are great players and can drink as much as we do and still get sh1t done.

yeah, well...whatever....lol...
boils down to time and energy..ain't got the time or energy to do a completely new startup band right now...got this band on its feet before I was busy with everything else so I had time to do all that start up B.S...
which is what pisses me off the most..we were finally coasting then bam..brick wall..
damn rythm section..always the rythm section...lol
