Thats a tough solo man, get a metronome and work it up at a slow speed first. Knock the metronome up in increments of 4 each day until its up to speed. You fingers can't tell the difference between 4 clicks faster. My classical teacher tought me that. Its true.

i'm pretty confident that i can handle it with some practice...and i'm all for practice...it's just that you have to work out 3 solos...well the middle section with the melody is pretty easy...
it's gonna take some time though

Randys stuff is easy to learn cause its all diatonic and pretty straight-forward in technique. the tough part is the speed of it. The end solo is the worst I think. Thats the one that took me the longest.

Thats the one that took me the longest. I would imagine that all those double note slides in that last solo are pretty tough, no? I guess you'd call them ascending and decending double stop licks? not quite sure....but I'm sure you know which part I'mt alkin' about

I'm trying to hear it in my head and can't think how it goes... I'll have to grab it and listen to it again....All I can hear is the ascending licks an descending double-triplets at the end? Or is that the 1st one?

I think the last solo he does is with the keyboard player doubling him at first...then into a more bluesey feel...he does that Kiss/Page lick (that I hate..) in there too...watch your video of him to get the positions and quick hints should make it go faster...he does alot of trills (ala EVH) so get yo' act together..learn the solo as Craig says at a managable speed and learn it in 'chunks'...then, once learned in chunks put them together and practice the whole thing slowly until your up to speed...Leona Boyd method..

I think if your up on theory and scales you'll be able to pull it off. I'd just improvise over the solo spots to get a feel for it. I'm not patient enough nor anal enough to do cover songs exact. I think as long as you have the vibe and attitude going you can pull it off and do the song some justice This was my first recording to pc I did several years ago...with a J-Station and cakewalk guitar tracks pro www.shawnlutz.com/crowley1mix3.mp3www.shawnlutz.com/mrcrowley2mix2.mp3

so, 2 songs so far and 6 solos to learn...ehhhh, i'm not complaining...this is like my dream band if i pass the audition...
