Hey guys,
just wanted to say that my band is playing at the new House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ! I am very stoked because this is our first real show in front of a large crowd. It may not be that big to some of you but we have only played small bars and clubs for the most part with the exception of one battle of the bands at my college that was rigged for the MTV show "Made".
The show isn't till Jan. 14 but I just got confirmation that we're in. We are the last band to play so that's good or bad? Usually that's bad atmost local clubs because no one hangs around that late but it just means we are the headliners this time around! I hope people will stick around till then (prob. go on around 11:30-12:00 at night). Anyway I can't wait!
Now...I have a goal to accomplish before then. Sell my Rivera KHR and get a Splawn! I just need to get a second job and decide which one I want. I still can't figure out which one is best for me! I would love to have one cranking at that show!!

Thanks man I'm a bit nervous but I will have fun. I never got a backstage "dressing room" before so now we can wear silly costumes or something weird. I just need to keep the other guys from getting too drunk before we make it up there.

BTW, does anyone have any tips for setting and such with live sound in large venue like that? I suppose I will be cranking the amp a little more than when I play a smaller club. From what I have learned, I should turn down the basss and preamp gain with more volume.

Very Cool! Congrats & Good luck! Dressing room stories are usually great! weird things do happen! I crank up, Clubs are usually small and they want it way lower.. Stages get a little louder. Rather I am Jammin, or front row at a concert.. I always hear loud breathing amps at the sweet spot... they want to get blasted! gotta luv that..

One of the things I'm most excited about is being able to let the amp roar! We are always told that we are too loud because our drummer plays like he has hammers for drumsticks but this time it will be ok! I might be trading kurtsstuff my Rivera for his Pro Mod so the Splawn may be unleashed ;D A friend of mine is an audio engineer and he will probably be recording from the house board so I will post clips of the show if he does.

I haven't been down there since it opened but I have heard great things about it. Good sound and a good vibe to the room with all kinds of artwork and such. Queens of the Stoneage are there this month and I might go to check it out. Backstage lounge hmmmmmmmm
