Do you guys remember the band Lion from the 80s? That was Doug Aldrich's band. I just aquired Lions Dangerous Attraction, Trouble In Angle City, and Transformers Theme song. Very cool band. To hear the rocked out version of the Transformers theme song is freakin killer, yet freaking hillarious at the same time. I don't know why, but I can't stop listening to it! LOL I first heard of Lion in the movie The Wraith...........remember the car movie with Charlie Sean? It was cool cause I first heard the song Never Surrender in that movie. Talk about a killer riff! Liked it so much that I had to learn it. Doug is one monster guitar player!!!!! I should be getting the Bad Moon Rising box set within the next month too.

I remember reading about him constantly in guitar magazines back in the day, but never knew that I heard him (lion)...touted him as a multistylist and all that jazzola.. my ex friend (long story) had trouble in angel city... I LOVE the transformers theme song by lion! lol...quite a headbangin' tune there =) actually, that whole sound track is killer..I love Instruments of Destruction ( when the decepticons attacked an autobot transport on the way to metroplex during the beginning..you'll probably rememberr cause they killed off Prowl, Iron Hide and a few others..man, why do I remember all this stuff...BaHaHahaha) and yes, I did see Wraith..nice dodge concept car in that flick

Ya, Doug was the driving force behind Lion. Him and lead singer Kal Swan went on to form Bad Moon Rising.....which also kicked ass! Lions best work was on Dangerous Attraction. Great album! Trouble in Angel City was ok, but Dangerous Attraction just rips!
The Wraith is a great movie. Thinking about buying it off of Amazon.com. The song Never Surrender is in that movie, and the Lion song Power Love!

I hope him an David Coverdale can write a whole new Whitesnake album.

Man, he plays the Sykes stuff perfectly but even adds an element of over the top shred to it as well. I think his overall feel and chops are better and more natural sounding than Sykes. Sykes as good as he is always sounded forced when playing Metal licks,, but he ruled on the Blue Murder bluesier stuff.

The Dio Evil or Divine DVD is where I first got in to Dougs stuff. Talk about an amazing concert. There is no doubt about it, Doug can shred.
