I didn't know he was with Dio..I'll have to check that out =)
I also heard that there's a new Whitesnake video comming out in november with the current lineup on it..so you guys might wanna check that out too

The DVD from Whitesnake is supposed to be like October 24th? Its been pushed back several times cause the video editing guy had a heart attack. Must have been one hell of an awesome concert!

On the Whitesnake site, there are new videos on there. Its Bad Boys live from the DVD. Doug totally rips on it. Reb has a really good solo in it too!

The Dio Evil or Divine DVD is where I first got in to Dougs stuff. Talk about an amazing concert. There is no doubt about it, Doug can shred. no doubt, one of my top favorite players...my friend is really close with ronnie james dio and knows doug very well...has both guys on speed dial ;D...he told me that craig goldie got hurt and that doug is playing with Dio again now. |

If so, any stories about the meeting? yeah...he was telling me stories about how he had spaghetti dinner with ronnie and ronnie's parents...ahahaha...he's actually in the "evil or divine" DVD, he's the big fat guy (he doesn't mind me saying that...he actually lost a TON of weight since that show)that ronnie is hangin out with in the extra footage and he's also in the front during the concert. yeah that's me and EVH in 1998. great story about that pic, as we were waiting to meet the band,scotty ross, the tour manager at that time was giving us a list of rules of what we can't do: 1) no autographs 2) don't shake ed's hand too hard 3) no personal pics...etc... well, i had a disposable camera with me...being the hugest VH fan on the planet i wasn't walking away without a pic...so my friend joe was like, "don't worry, stand next to ed and i'll snap the picture"...so i was the first one in my group so i said hi to the rest of the band and went to stand next to ed...i told ed that i couldn't possibly explain how huge a fan i was...i stood next to him, he put his arm around me and my buddy brought up the camera to take the pic...ed was SO COOL, BUT>>>security sees my buddy and the camera and dashes at him to grab the camera...he snaps the picture and stands next to me...ed's staff wave off the security guys and i had my pic...it's blown up to poster size and hanging in my basement! i met him and michael anthony last year also...michael even had my band's sticker on his bass during the worcester show...i got kicked out of the concert for trying to take a pic of it...still trying to find video of that... |

Very cool on the Van Halen thing. So they were pampering the man huh? LOL Thats too funny. I remember Mike putting your stickers on his bass. I forgot that was your band. Really cool. You or another band member had posted a bunch of pics from that show on a VH message board last year.
Have you ever got to hang out with RJ Dio? That would be cool if your friend could get you in?

That would be cool if your friend could get you in? yeah that was me that posted that at VHLinks.com...after the worcester show i wrote up a whole writeup about the golden ring section and how cool it was being on mikey's side and how mike is the nicest guy in the world...my buddy and i had 5* passes for the second night at the meadowlands (you got to go to the soundcheck and possibly hang a little with the band)...when mike came over to ourside he goes, "ahhh...my friends from the gamma rays...what are you guys doing here?"..we were floored...he signed some stickers for us and said to me, "hey, i read what you wrote about the worcester show...that was really nice!"...i was stunned.... i was supposed to go backstage when whitesnake played CT this summer and meet Doug but my band had a gig that night so i couldn't go to the show...hopefully i'll meet the guy or RJD soon...lol! |
