Just got this baby Thursday. Thanks to Matt, packed beautiful and exactly as described. Absolutely love it. So much lowend on this beast, it works wonderfully with the 7 string too. Crushing palm mutes like you're going to take the walls down, haha. Here's a pic. I have a small chugga clip, but I'm going to redo it. I did it quick because I was excited to see how it sounded mic'd, lol. rough chugga only clip

i personally like to run my nitro like this:
50 watt mode resnonance - 10-11:00 presence - noonish bass - 10:00 mids - 2:00 treble - noon-1:00 gain - 3:00 OD1
keep in mind that i'm running through different speakers/cabs. i've never dialed in the amp for an OS 412 w/ v30s.

ahh, nice, I will definitely give those settings a shot when I redo it. I'm sure it will be a little different, but that's a nice place to start. I'm close to those settings, but you have some interesting tweaks going on, thanks man!

wow, nice recording...which tubes? is it single tracked ? thanks man. KT77, one left, one right. Used an SM57 and a Sennheiser e906 close mic'd. Wow a mills accoustics cab, those are expensive. How do you like it? great cabs man, absolutely love it. It basically sounds great with every head I've tried on it. I didn't think I was partial to V30 after owning a Mesa cab, but they sound fantastic in this thing for some reason. I got real lucky with the cab too, I found it used, which is very rare with Mills. I wouldn't have paid new price for one before owning it, but after owning it, my next cab will be a Mills too.

oh yeah Eric congrats on the new head.how is it compared to the QR you had. thanks man. Very different animals imo, I love the Quickrod for the hard rock and classic metal sounds, but the Nitro just sounds phenominal with my 7 strings. I still have the Quickrod, the plan was to sell it after I got the Nitro, but I'm having a hard time letting go of it. The Quickrod has that awesome complex midrange, but the Nitro has the lowend/low mids that shakes foundations.

I saw on HC that you had to run around securing rattling objects in your home to play the Nitro loud, made me smile. Reminded me of when I got a new subwoofer for the home theater.

haha, yeah, it makes me smile everytime I fire it up. Nothing like getting some crushing tones, and getting a massage out of the deal too.
