haha, wow I'm a bonehead. I checked the FX loop tonight, and it's been active this whole time. What does that do to the tone if it's active and there is nothing in the loop? Is it a big difference?

i haven't messed with comparing how it sounds with the loop on or off with nothing in there. unless i'm running fx in there, i just turn it off. one time, however, when i was over at ans we had the nitro fired up, w/ nothing in the loop but with the loop still on. when i turned the loop off i noticed things sounded a bit clearer. i actually think the loop on my QR is a bit more transparent than the nitro's but i haven't sat down to fiddle and compare with it enough to really say. i have noticed a big difference in sound depending on what line level is engaged.

oh very interesting, I get to crank up the Nitro tommorrow, so I'm going to check it out. Does the line level thing affect anything if there is nothing on the loop?

im not sure.
come to think of it i remember talking to scott about the nitro when i first got it and he told me that the QR and Nitro have the exact same loop. i remember fiddling with the QR's loop before and (if i remember correctly) found that if there was not really any tonal change if there was nothing the loop with the loop on vs loop off. so in theory it should be the same thing with the nitro.
i should also point out that the time i had the nitro over at ansley's the nitro wasn't sounding like it had been and a few days later i noticed the power tubes were going bad....so actually don't take what i said as definate.
when you try it out tomorrow, let me know what you find. thanks!

ahh, ok, so tubes could definitely affect it I would imagine. Guess I'll give it a rip tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks man, I will definitely report back.

Wow, nice man! The clip sounds killer. It makes me want one. If you are ever playing out somewhere in the area let me know so I can hear that beast in person.

You're welcome to stop over and rip on it any time man. Would love to watch you tear it up! Me and Matt should do a little Jersey Splawn jam sometime! I probably live about 15 minutes from you. I would love to come by and hear that amp again. I played one at the convention last year but not for too long. Maybe some Sunday I could swing by and hear it. Hell I could bring my Pro Mod, Matt can bring his QR and we can have the Holy Trinity there! Oh wait, you have a QR too right?

that sounds awesome actually. The only problem, is making sure no one is here, it's a pretty small house. I get a couple days during the week when no one is home if you guys have any days off. Do you have any place we could crank the amps Dennis? I'd be willing to cart my stuff over. I'd be real interested to check out your Pro Mod, I've been really interested to hear what the KT88 do to the Quickrod. I have KT77 in mine. I'll have the Nitro, Quickrod, and a Mako Dorado that I could bring.
