hmmm, perhaps I should go the competition route then. The Nitro's cleans are very good! May not be a bad idea. Although some people say the competition has a sharp or too sharp trebly tone, compared to a Pro-stock or Quickrod. One thing would be if you do run across a competition for a good price, then you could put the SED'S in it and that would fix that little deal I'm sure. But all in all who needs two clean channels? ??

people say the competition is more trebly than the QR? isn't it the same as the QR, just minus two power tubes?

I always thought so also. But for some reason more than several people say this same thing about the Competition. But it sure ain't nothing SED'S will not cure.

The clips sound a little darker than a quickrod. I like the sound. It is definantely voiced differently thats for sure. It appears to have a smoother mid range instead of the mid spike of a quickrod. It doesn't seem to have that angry tone to it like a quickrod has though. Of course that has to do with guitar, pups, settings, spearkers, mic placement, the recording device, etc etc. I have a tremonti treble pup in my PRS and it seems to make my quickrod sound like if you piss off a rabid pitbull. Very angry. I need to save my pennys for a Nitro though. I think that running both amps live would just kill. I have big blocks and small blocks on the way!? I hope.

SED's smooth out the Harsh highs. Plenty of treble still, but smoother. I can use the Presence knob now...as well as the Treble. That and a change of cables (George L's are NOT the cable for the QR!) and the amp is sounding incredible.

********EDIT - NEW RECORDING******Alright guys, I just re-recorded the whole song but without using the FX loop trick. I ran the amp somewhat open with the loop disengaged, master volume around ~8:30, which was pretty damn loud. I think it sounds much more articulate, tight and aggressive and less muddy/dark sounding. I've found that turning up the master more thickens the sound up even more but it was just getting to loud to record at home. Let me know what you guys think. www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=358837**********************************

Okay Windsen, I get it. You aspire to play country music deep down. LMAO. Nah! Just pulling it. That was tight Bro. The amp sounded deep, not dark that way. Atleast to me anyhow. Not bad. Not bad at all,I like it. That was with the new cab right?
