Let me say the guys at Splawn are the best people you could ever meet Scott is the man! Tree was cool and the guy who does the tolex(Brian)? Cool! BLS fan too!! ;D I can't believe I have driven past his shop so many times and never knew it was there. 45 mins boys and I'm there anytime I want ;D Seen and signed Hacksaw's combo, nice. Davo,Mitch and Donaldemon realy cool guys. Vom and TJ and Shredder got all them on video running the Nitro thru its paces. If you had closed your eyes you would have thought CC was there ;D Metalheart, it was good to meet you. Did you stay long enough to see the headcutting duel/ blues jam between Scott and TJ? I ran out of tape to capture that coolness! What did you think of the Splawn BIG BLOCKS? Good grief...the Nitro along those BIG BLOCKS...dude, it was PURE THUNDER!!! The Small Blocks sounded really great as well...but more of an open sound, to me it was a little more vintage. I completely enjoyed meeting everyone and hearing them play...there on some folks on this forum with some serious chops! I'll post my video on youtube when i figure out how to pull it off my camcorder... Later, patrick Hey it was good to meet you too,Manoopee TJ and Scott? I must have miss that one. My batteries ran dry ,I got to see and Voms friend jam. That was cool. I'm glad I did not miss this one(SPAM). But to all those who didn't make this year, you got to come next year! Mannoopee is right, there are some sick players on here. I got to send video to a buddy of mine,so he can post it.

Man, that just sounds so killer. If there was any single thing I wanted more from my Comp was just a tad more saturation and forgiveness. Maybe we can finally quit hearing about people defecting over to the fitty-one-fitty-free camp, and instead hear about more coming back to the proper side. The only downside to this breaking news is of course that the wait will be over 4 months and my Compy is obsolete overnight. But still, I have no need for 100 watts so my Compy will always have a happy home right here.

And Metalheart, why aren't you over there partying like a rock star instead of logged on?

OK i got a few questions. does it have gears?? is it a really noticeable amount of difference in gain or is it just voiced differently?? when will it be available for sale?? cost, tube options??
i am pretty happy with my pro mod but if this thing really kills I'll get one.as everyone knows from all of my posts on here i play all high gain stuff and still like the splawn tone so this has me walking the floors in anticipation! if it is all that and a bag of chips as described I'll be on the build list asap.
engl powerball gain and saturation with splawn tone...AHHHHHH (drooling like Homer Simpson over pork chops and applesauce!!)
peace

It has clean ch. and dirt. ch. Od1 and Od2! Also tubes choices are the same 34s ,77s or Kt88s. Scott said it will be priced around the Pro Mod.

my Compy is obsolete overnight. Whoa Nelly! Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I'd thought the Nitro was going to be modern voiced? ie, darker, chug-chug-chug. Surely it's not just a Quick Rod with more gain/saturation? That would seem a weird product to release.

I resemble that remark!! I told him he oughtta charge 2Gs for it. That price tag alone would make it a boutique amp maker's boutique amp. Fortunately for the rest of y'alls Scott is not as greedy as I am, so he still kept the price relatively low for an amp like this.

Surely it's not just a Quick Rod with more gain/saturation? That would seem a weird product to release. Sorry bros, that was just me up late after about a 60 hour work week - after having a strongish black tooth grin going on LOL. Naw, I don't really feel that way I guess. Yeah, my understanding is it's a more modern-voiced amp. When I spoke to Scott personally several months ago I asked about the Nitro under the promise that I wouldn't tell anybody anything. I asked if it was going to fall somewhere between a Mesa and an Engl, and he said "yes." He said that he was concerned that people were selling the Splawn because of it's tightness, and that this might be a little more forgiving. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like Scott got what he was after. I would love to have another Splawn to compliment mine. It seems that between a Compy and a Nitro you could cover alot of ground. In fact, now that I think about it clearly, a Comp might be the perfect compliment to something like a Nitro, since the Nitro has the clean, but the Comp can get you down in to VH and Classic Rock territory and still clean up well with the guitar volume knob -plus 25 watts - and at only 1450. A Comp and Nitro would be more bang for buck than a QR and Nitro since the Comp does the work of the QR but for less. I better email Scott and tell him to raise his prices again on the Comp. There is a reason that a Comp can only be had DIRECT from Scott. It's because Scott has to personally approve the owners of a Comp. Not just any old Jabroni can have one. Only people who are SPECIAL. You don't see many Compy's going for used, because Compy owners pass a special test administered by Scott. Comp owners aren't all wishy-washy like QR owners, not taken by whimsical ideas that other amps could be better. Where's that coffee now?
