Cheers everyone, I'm new here. Well, I've been lurking for a little while.
Anyway, I'm on the verge of buying a QR but was wondering what general concensus is on the clean channel??
I'm buying the amp knowing it has great Overdrive sounds and options to tweak them, but would like a suitable clean too.
I will be playing metal, hard rock/metal (Alice in Chains tones are what I'm after...But I would also like a good SRV, Hendrix, Trower clean with some dirt to it.
Is this all possible with the QR??
Oh and shreder75 will kill me for making this thread, I think he's sick of me at HC lol!! Thanks dudes!!

i dont know if I would call the clean Subtle, seems more of a slight dirty clean, just a litte edge.. ( mostly speaker breakup, celestion v-30's) but that works for me.. I never use real clean for anything..

If the QR clean is like the Promod clean, it's very usable. Hacks right that it does have a slight edge to it but that's easily remedied with a tiny twist of the volume knob.

it's very reactive to pickups..both of the pickups in my ESP are relatively hot..so it does get a little hair on it...know how I remedied that? I turned the mids all the way down and it sounds GREAT now...very full sounding...I dig it

Hey mightyjoe, another Jerseyian!
The cleans on my Pro Mod are great for me. I don't use super clean with alot of headroom anyway. I think the KT88's in the PM help a bit more than the EL34's in the QR. I think unless you want Fender or Roland cleans you will not be dissapointed.

Cool guys...Like I said I like some "hair" to my tone...Even though SRV used Fenders, I liked the dirt he got when using the TS.
Has anyone tried backing off the volume knob on the guitar in the OD channel?? How well does it clean up?? Thanks!
-Joe

Thanks! -Joe Works great for me, I run 3rd gear, preamp dimed, and use a lot off roll off from the guitar. I also had a capacitor added to the volume control so it will roll off gain, but keep the tone/volume up a bit.. its almost like changing the 3rg gear to first gear when I roll back guitar volume 1/2 way.
