My revelation...
Does anyone else notice that if you run the gain a little lower, you see a much bigger difference between OD1 and OD2? If I keep the gain around noon, the difference is like night and day where if I run it around 2:00, it isn't as prominant.

I don't have a 3rd gear, and now I've decided to remain different and never get one. In fact, if I order a second QR, I'm going to request to have Scott remove it from the amp...so there, neener, neener, neener!!!!
I didn't care for OD2 before when I was running the gain around 2-3 o'clock. When I brought it down to around noonish, I noticed that I liked it a lot more...there is this nice "squishy" feel to it. Does that make any sense? It isn't really spongey, because the amp still stops on a dime...and I equate sponginess with "sag"...and sag is one thing this amp DOESN'T have.

I find that the gain on 2nd and third gear is about the same from 2 o'clock to wide open...not much difference.....so, I run it wide open....why cheese with it...
hey craggin, why you running the QR at low gain? you playing 'Carpenters' with this amp???....'we've only just begun..' THRONG!!!!!

It still seems a bit fatter with OD2 than OD1 and dimed wit 3rd gear to me... back of guitar vol and right into 1st gear it feels like. I am running a custom resistor/Cap trick on the volumes. cleans up without dropping to much volume.
