What efx do you use with your quickrod?

I should have mine in two weeks ;D and I don't know what is the best way to go with efx. I like just a touch of verb on my clean tones and delay on the leads.

Any suggestions on using the loop and efx?

I haven't had the best luck with my xpression and the QR. It has adjustable I/O's, but you've got to really get the amp cranked in order for the bottom end of the tone to return. Haven't run it through the faceplace because it's tuned much more for running in the loop. Most folks here have been much happier with the Alesis, but if you go with the xpression and it works well for you, please post some of your settings.

Hmmm, I have this same question. I've got a G-Major that I run through another rig, and pedals that I've been using with the QR. I'm really just using a wah, delay, and a chorus so the G-major is over kill. (And I hardly ever even use the delay, chorus, and wah.) I've found that the effects loop does change the tone a bit...it seems to make the amp a bit brighter...does anyone else notice this?

that's usually the nature with most fx loops, craggin...anytime ya add something in the chain chances are it's gonan change the tone..at least a little bit!

Yep, as per Scott's site, as you increase the volume it decreases the amount I notice it. I'm used to my Road Kings 2 loops, you could get them pretty darn transparent. (But the tone of the Splawn is much better regardless, IMO.)

FWIW, I'm just going to swap out my delay pedal as it is pretty cheap...I'll go for something true bypass and keep it in front of the amp so as not to degrade any tone. I love how well the QR takes pedals.

I just ordered a TC electronics G Major, This midi controlled device will also switch your amp channel as well. they say it will change the amp channels per patch when I change the patch on the G major, so my effect's and volumes for the clean/Dirrty channel switch with one one or two taps of the foot. no more dancing.. cause I cant dance! LOL Love modern tech stuff..

I like the Rocktron Xpression Ok.. Great effects but lacked a few things compared to the G major.

I found editing software for the G major as well,, but not through TC electronics web site.

The Rocktron Xpression also has a built in EQ, so it will change how your amp sounds, a feature I didnt want or liked. I sent it back to the dealer within one day.

Works great with my Rocktron all access controller. specially in song mode on the All Access.

I had the G-major when I had a Triaxis earlier this year...it is probably the best 'non-analog' guitar processor out that is 'reasonably' priced. I am an analog 'snob' I admit it...the analog gear just sounds more 'organic' and whaaaarrrmmm to me (as Neil Young (arg...) once said: "digital is like a bucket full of ice cubes whereas analog is a bucket full of warm water, I know which bucket I like poured over my head"...). The G-major advantage is it's stereo and routing (serial/parallel) options where the analog gear (if it is good) is a bit pricey but if it sticks (metaphorically) on your pedalboard then the price is 'worth' it....the QR is 'mono' so limits the G-major a bit and I like a pedalboard set-up as opposed to dragging a pedalboard AND a rack unit around (not to mention the QR 1/2 stack and a coupla guitars...) The G-major is a cool unit though....BTW my pedal chain: Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah---Prescription Vibe-Unit---Fulltone OCD---AnalogMan Clone Chorus---Ernie Ball Volume (splits into Peterson Strobotuner and into QR 1/2 stack input)--Diamond Pedals MemoryLane analog delay in the effects loop. All pedals are 'true' bypass....I can't remember is the G-major true bypass or buffered??? I think it is buffered no???

I'm running a Ibanez delay pedal in the loop and I'm totally happy with the sound I'm getting. Don't really need anything else.

From what I read it is buffered bypass. I am enjoying the Gmajor. It is nicely transparent with very good effects to me. Works well with the QR. I havent went back to the analog pedal board yet!

FWIW...don't trust your ears without COMPARING each thing (pedal etc..) you add to your pedal chain with the sound of the amp by itself! and with the sound of your amp with all the pedals bypassed! I will tend to add pedals in my chain and click them 'on' and listen and think...hmmm, that sounds good! then turn my rig off and leave...only to find out later that the pedal is actually ROBBING my sound and cutting or buffering the guitar frequency response ....so, Be careful out there! there are guitar tone thieves in our very midst!!!
