most the time (not all the time) BUT most the time expensive pedals are expensive for a reason! THEY PERFORM and THEY LAST...I still see alot of 'Boss' effects on pro guys boards BUT I find out from them later that they have $200-300 bucks of mods done to it....quality still costs bank....unless you luck out and find quality on ebay where someone doesn't know what they have (won/bought a T-Rex 'Replica' on ebay for $220 a few months ago..)...then get yer wallet out! Good news is: once you have it, it SHOULD LAST! Bad news is: us guitar players are never happy...even when we have the goods!

No thats not the Valvulator. It brings your signal down to low impedance and regulates the voltage of pedals. It has a 12ax7 in it but all it does is 'warm' up the signal. It has no other fetaures or uses, other than that it powers the pedals, so no batteries. Neil Zaza turned me onto it. Lots of Pros are using these in their pedal boards who like me, do not want to go with any rack-mount stuff. [edit] Looks like there IS a valvulator pre-amp, but thats not the one I mean, I guess they've changed the name , now its called a Valvulator I: www.vhtamp.com/frames.html Looks like the output is 600 ohms not 470 as I though I read somewhere...
