Hi guys, I'm new here. I've been playing guitar and in bands for 37 years. Currently using a slightly-modded original 5150. My wife and I recently sold our house and I am looking to splurge a bit and get a new amp, possibly a matching cab, and a new guitar. I've been looking at the Splawn Nitro, QR, and the Splawn guitars. My favorite tones are from Lynch back in the late 80's (Under Lock and Key, BFTA), Sykes on the 1987 Whitesnake album, and Doug Aldrich with Whitesnake. Truth be told, I have also been looking at the VooDoo V-Rock amp head. I already have two VooDoo 412 cabs with Celestion V30s and Celestion 75-watters in an X pattern in them. Great cabs, I love them. Can anyone here give me your experiences with the Nitro, the QR, Splawn cabs, and has anyone here bought a Splawn guitar? They look exceptionally well-made. I've been looking at a Charvel Custom Shop, but truthfully, I keep asking myself "why should I spend almost $3k for a guitar if I can get basically the same thing for considerably less". I ask myself the same question when it comes to the VooDoo vs. the Nitro/QR. Just looking for some info, your experiences, etc. Thanks in advance!
Mark

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum! For Lynch tones either QR or Nitro will nail it. I have a QR and a Streetrod and my best friend has a Nitro. I have played them all extensively. My experiences with Splawn amps cannot be better. Tone for days, reliable, incredible customer service....for me, when I found Scott Splawn (a long time ago), I have never wanted for another amp. Amp "gas" ceased. I have two of his cabs as well and they are fantastic.
I do not own a Splawn guitar, but perhaps someone else will jump in and discuss.
Good luck and you won't be disappointed in the Splawn amps!
