Hi Have you ever replaced your KT88 tubes with some other brand tubes? Could you share your experiences (tone difference etc.)? Do you know which tubes are used as stock ones? Currently I have Svetlana "S", also Svetlanas "S" on preamp + 1 EHX, sounds very round, big in my 2007 Nitro, though I'm going to buy some cheap KT88 just to try them out (JJ or Sovtek, EHX) BTW. Set your solo knob to 9 o clock or higher - it changes sound even if solo is not engaged. Best tip I've learned on this forum, just sharing to be sure that everybody knows it

Hey Alseic, I don't have a Nitro nor use KT88s but I would look into either JJs or Rubys. I know Ruby is rebranded something else but you may have a higher success in getting matched tubes. I would ask: www.dougstubes.comwww.thevalvequeen.comScott has used different brands over the years so there is no 'stock' answer for what are the stock tubes Also, on the Solo thing, the key is actually to keep the Solo knob just higher than your volume knob even if off. Also try your treble on '0'. The way Scott puts the tone stack together, the amp seems more alive with still plenty of treble. Not sure how this works on the Nitro. I have a Quick Rod.
