I just bought my first Splawn street rod Combo and I have to say it is a beast! Pure tone all day. After playing with it for a few hours I am convinced that is the best amp I ever owned and played. It has a very vocal sound for leads almost like a wah wah. I'm running a nova system in the loop and it sounds great. Overall I'm very happy with my new puppy. My favorite gear so far is 2 on overdrive 2. Very JCM800 pushed, very organic and just COOL. What are your favorite settings in what gears?

I got my streetrod about a month ago and was thinking of getting a nova system for effects. It is a great sounding amp and Scott was great to deal with.

The nova system sounds really good in the loop. I think is very transparent and does a excellent job. All the effects are top notch, the chorus is not the best but if you learn how to mixed with the pitch effects sound very good. After trying a whole lot of multi effects the nova system is the best natural sounding unit. As for the splawn is just so cool, I'm really enjoying gear two overdrive 2 with gain at 3, volume at 9, treble at 1:30, mids at 1, bass at 11, presence at 1. That's with a les paul and 498t and 490r. I have the small block speaker and sounds good but I'm thinking about the cream back 75 or maybe a vintage 30.

I too have the Nova System in the loop and it works great. I use gear 2 OD 1 mostly. Try theses settings... Treble = OFF, Middle about 1:00, Bass about 7:00, Presence to taste. Something magical happens to the tone with the Treble all the way down. |
